Get hands-on experience with horses in our one-week Horsemanship Program, July 6-10, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Morning riding lessons and working with rescue horses and ponies will teach you essential skills in horse care. Afternoons are filled with horse related learning first aid , general barn work, learning tack , games , and so much more . Ages 8-15 Beginners are welcome . Our working pupils gain hands-on experience in various areas where assistance is required, including body clipping for horses that do not shed out. In exchange for their assistance with feeding, general barn work, and participation in lessons, camps, and events, they receive comprehensive lessons. These lessons encompass not only riding skills but also horse handling, ground work, lungeing, safety procedures, horse first aid, lameness issues, and more. Interested please message us. The previous day's lesson highlighted a working student who participates in multiple activities, including lesson assistance, camps, stall cleaning, horse grooming, and feeding, in exchange for receiving training. These students gain experience by riding various horses.

A pupil recently participated in their first horse handling lesson at our farm, focusing on key aspects like horse grooming, equipment management, and cool-down routines. We are pleased to report that the pupil had a fantastic experience and is eager to continue with further lessons.

We had a great time with lessons on Friday. Weather was perfect. Of course Matt had to be his goofy self after lessons . All lesson proceeds go right back into our rescue . It pays for the farrier, vet, feed and more. Come and join us for a lesson . Learn at your pace.

Our riding lessons caters to beginners and intermediate riders, focusing on English Hunt Seat and western riding. With a rate of $50.00 per hour, lessons are available during the week and on Saturdays.  All proceeds from our lessons go directly into our horse rescue fund. Beautiful weather yesterday for a lesson with Matt and our pupil. Matt is a very laid-back guy comical at times . We hope to get him out to some shows this summer.

We received an invitation to attend the Ivies Incorporated of Roanoke Valley's fundraising event, 'A Nite at the Races', on Saturday which supports scholarships for graduating high school seniors. We brought two horses, Awesome and Chili, for attendees to interact with, offering opportunities for photographs and allowing them to pet and familiarize themselves with the horses, which proved to be a great experience.
I want to thank our volunteers that helped us and Steve for hauling us over. 🐴
