Our clinic is companion animal only (dogs and cats) and we are open 6 days a week, appointments preferred. We have grown in the last few years and now have 3 associate veterinarians to provide great veterinary care for your pets! Dr. Julie Hackney, Dr. Jen West, and Dr. Mackenzie May are excited to meet you and your furry family members. Our clinic is focused on quality medicine combined with compassion and customer service. We consider pets as true family members and treat them as such.

Meet Lieutenant Dan, our clinic cat!

Back in 2015, a tiny kitten was brought into our clinic and quickly captured the hearts of Dr. Andermann and the technicians. He was born with a genetic defect that twisted his hind legs inward, affecting how he walked around. Determined to give him a higher quality of life, Dr. Andermann performed a double amputation surgery, and so Dan became a permanent resident of Andermann Animal Clinic.

Today, 10 years later, he’s living up to his name and enjoying a spoiled life. He spends his days lounging in our treatment area, watching each patient we bring back. Keep an eye out on your next visit, you just might catch a glimpse of him out and about!

Our office will be CLOSED this Friday, July 4th. Please call our office to fill any needed prescriptions as early as possible to avoid the last minute rush. Remember to keep pets indoors and calm during the holiday and when going outside, use a leash. Pets can get easily spooked with loud fireworks and are more apt to run away/get lost during this time of year. We will re-open Saturday, July 5th at 8 am.

We are exactly ONE WEEK away from opening day at our new clinic! So here are some important reminders coming up.

The final stages of our big move is at the end of this week. This includes having a company come in to disassemble and relocate our x-ray machine. That being said, we will be unable to take x-rays in house Thursday and Friday. We apologize for this necessary inconvenience.

Again, PLEASE do not attempt to enter the new clinic until it is open to the public next week.

We have exciting news! We are starting to move things into our new clinic over the next two weeks!
To facilitate moving the final few things, we will be closing early Friday, May 23rd, and CLOSED all day Saturday, May 24th and Monday, May 26th (for Memorial Day).
We anticipate opening Tuesday, May 27th at our new location!
We’ll post more as the official opening day approaches.

Our Story

Dr. Leslie Andermann is looking forward to becoming your "other" family doctor. She was born and raised just down the street from her practice in Burnside, on Brittany Tower Road. She has worked in general practice, non-profit surgical centers, and also has experience as an ER clinician in Baton Rouge. Building this clinic has been her lifelong dream, and she is excited to bring veterinary medicine to the next level in south Gonzales, Burnside, Brittany, Sorrento, Darrow, and so on! Why drive farther when compassionate care combined with the latest amenities are right down the street? We are excited to meet you soon!

We opened our clinic January of 2013 and have become one of the fastest growing practices in our area. Currently, we have three full-time doctors on staff to handle all of your veterinary needs. Dr. Andermann (LSU SVM 2008), Dr. Julie Hackney (LSU SVM 1998), and Dr. Michael Block (LSU SVM 2017) are here to care for your pets 6 days a week.
