My name is Melony Smith. Tania Morton and I began working together 20 years ago. She was an assistant trainer and I worked in the office for Mike McEntire, a leading horse trainer on the East Coast. Tania opened her own business and started showing in Ranch Shows so when I decided to try Ranch Riding she was the perfect fit. She has trained several horses for me and I regularly take lessons from her. Tania has developed the Complete Horsemanship Program and is able to adapt her training and lesson program to many different styles of horses and riders. She does a phenomenal job training horses to be competitive at a high level and to be safe and easy to ride. Currently I am leasing a horse for my son, Thomas, who was in her program so that he can show this season. Thomas has been taking lessons for about 18 months and Tania makes lessons and enjoyable with a varied learning experience. My new goal is to become more competitive showing at national shows and to continue fine tuning my skills. I also enjoying watching Thomas grow into a confident capable rider. Tania has built a very supportive show atmosphere where all of her clients are supportive of one another and ready to lend a hand to one another. Everyone is positive and encouraging and not "clicky" at all. My favorite thing about Tania is her straight forward teaching methods. She is very clear with her instruction and is able to convey her training techniques to various rider ages and skill levels. She really considers the individual horse and is very skilled at adapting her training to maximize the horses ability without stressing them out. She strives to work with the horse and rider and her program is not one size fits all. She also listens to her clients and builds a show program to suit all levels. She also holds regular clinics which are always fun and beneficial for everyone. I am so happy to have Tania as both an instructor and horse trainer for our family and would strongly recommend her to anyone.
