Happy 10 years to CVT Bridget!!! ✨

Bridget first started at our clinics on March 15 of 2015 after she graduated from Minnesota School of Business in December of 2014. Her favorite type of tech appointment is kitten nail trims, and one of the coolest procedures she ever assisted with was a C-section on a French Bulldog!

We are so happy and grateful to have Bridget as part of our team!

Did you know that March is National Pet Poison Prevention Month?

It's important to keep known household toxins away from your pet at all times, but if they do ingest something they shouldn't, we recommend calling us or your nearest emergency vet as soon as possible.

If your pet ingests something toxic after business hours, we recommend calling the Pet Poison Helpline. This service is available 24/7 and gives you the chance to talk with a certified toxicologist.

Happy Tripawd Awareness day to Dr. Mercer's dog, Lars!

Lars came in for an exam for limping, and after we took x-rays, he was suspected to have osteosarcoma. After confirming this diagnosis, he promptly had his leg amputated by traveling orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Hammel.

Although Lars is new to his tripawd life, he is navigating quite well! He was walking on his own only three days after his surgery, and he was allowed to start using the stairs after three weeks. After four weeks of exercise restriction, he went on his first walk, and he bounded around with excitement for the whole block!

February is dental health month, but we celebrate pet dental health 12 months a year!

Dental care in animals is super important which is why we aim to check your pet's teeth at least once a year during their routine exam. Dental problems in pets can include breaking a tooth, an oral abscess, gum disease, or more! We recommend making an appointment if you notice that your pet has bad breath, a loose or discolored tooth, trouble eating, or swelling around the mouth as this could potentially indicate that it's time for a dental cleaning under anesthesia!

Take a look at VA Lea's dog, Lumi. Smaller dogs tend to need dental cleanings more often and sometimes at a younger age, so she had her first dental cleaning at the age of 2. Look how bright and white her teeth are looking now! 🦷

Happy Veterinary Assistant Week to Jacie! ✨

Jacie has been working at our clinics since Spring of 2024, and she loves a wide variety of appointments including ones that involve taking x-rays and ultrasounds, as well as appointments with puppies and kittens! Jacie's goal is to graduate vet tech college so she can become a certified veterinary technician so she can perform dentals!

Ana has been working at our clinics since Summer of 2021, and her favorite type of appointment is a wellness visit because she likes to see that the patient has been doing well for a year, and has not needed to see us in between visits! Ana's goal is to go to vet school and become a veterinarian!

Morea has been working at our clinics since Spring of 2024, and her favorite type of appointment is a kitten's first exam! Morea's goals in veterinary medicine are to get more experience through work and school with various types of animals, and then she would like to go to vet school!

Laura has been working at our clinics since the end of 2023, and her favorite type of medical appointment involves ear infections because she finds the process of cleaning ears to be very satisfying! Laura's goal is to become a veterinarian!

Our vet assistants are responsible for weighing your pets, holding them and giving them treats during their appointments, assisting our veterinarians, relaying information from the doctor to our clients', filling medications, and so much more! Our vet assistants are an integral part of our team, and we are so appreciative of all of their hard work!

Fritz came in for his acupuncture treatment with Dr. Zisko, and his mom told us he reminds her of Spike from "The Gremlins" because of his mohawk! She then shared a photo with us from when he was two and had an even fuller mohawk, so we created a side by side of Spike as a baby and Spike as an adult to compare. What do you think?
