🚨 “We have nowhere to turn.” 🚨

(Warren County LEO, 8+ years experience)

“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked into abuse scenes with nowhere to bring a dog, let alone a cat.”

“The ONE kennel we’re allowed to use in Queensbury only holds a single dog — and it’s not even meant for abused animals.”

“For cats? We have nothing. I’ve literally had to bring a cat back to the Sheriff’s Office and let it sit in an office until we could find a family member.”

“Most nights we can’t get anyone to answer the phone. It’s hit or miss — even for hoarding cases.”

“I responded to a dog who was emaciated, flea-infested, overgrown nails — clearly abused. When I called for help, I was told I’d have to wait two days.”

“Two days.
What happens if the owner dumps the dog? We see that all the time — people dump the animal before charges can be filed.”

Law enforcement officials work domestic disputes, mental-health calls, severe neglect cases… and every time they have ask: Where do we bring the animal?
And the answer is always going to be uncertain. The left doesn’t know what the right is doing! The DA’s, ADA’s, County officials are unhelpful, and even worse possibly uncaring.

💔 This System Is Failing Everyone

🚫 Failing officers

🚫 Failing animals

🚫 Failing victims of domestic violence

🚫 Failing community safety

🚫 Failing every town in Warren & Washington County, and that’s a total of 28 towns worth of failure

Law enforcement is BEGGING for help so they can help animals.
They need a place to put abused animals so they are safe and plans can be made for their welfare. As it stands, the instructions your county officials might give you is, take them home, take them to a vet, but certainly they can’t instruct you to take them to a shelter that doesn’t exist!!

🆘 This shouldn’t be happening. And it doesn’t have to.

💚 Two Counties. One Mission.

WE MUST HAVE A SHELTER. There is a way. I know the way. They must open their minds, hearts and budgets.
I will keep at it, at them!

🎨 Cats Are Living Artwork 🐾💛

Every cat is a masterpiece — painted in colors, patterns, and details no artist could ever replicate.
Tabbies with swirling marbles, torties with their fiery mosaics, sleek panthers in miniature… each one a work of art.

And then there are the rare gems, like Phantom, white cat with two different-colored eyes — one blue, one gold-green 👁️💙✨👁️. A reminder that nature creates beauty in the most unexpected, breathtaking ways.

But behind that beauty… my heart sinks.
Because in our communities, cats have no true protections.
There is no town protocol for:
• when you find a cat 🐱❓
• when you need to safely surrender a cat 💔
• when law enforcement responds to cruelty or neglect cases 🚔🐾

There is no designated shelter, no structured pathway, and too often nowhere for these animals to go.
Cats — these living pieces of art — fall through the cracks every single day.

They deserve more.
They deserve safety.
They deserve a system that recognizes their value, their vulnerability, and their place in our lives.

Until that changes, we will continue to see cats suffer simply because there is no official space, no protocol, and no plan.
And that is something a civilized society should never accept. This should make you want to shout for them!

🐾 Every piece of art is worth preserving. Every cat is worth protecting.

Look at this beautiful cat — Preciosa 🐾💕
We’re sharing her before-and-after transformation to help pet owners understand a very common senior feline condition: hyperthyroidism.

Typical signs of hyperthyroidism in older cats include:
• 📉 Weight loss despite a good or increased appetite
• 💧 Increased thirst and urination
• 😾 Restlessness or irritability
• 🤢 Vomiting or diarrhea
• ❤️‍🔥 Rapid heart rate
• 🐱✨ Poor or unkempt coat

Preciosa dropped to just 7.5 pounds when her thyroid disease was at its worst — but she was fortunate to be a candidate for radioactive iodine (I-131) therapy.

Pros of I-131 Therapy 🌟
• 🎯 Curative in most cats
• 💊🚫 No daily medication needed
• 🔁 Low recurrence rate
• 😊 Improved comfort and quality of life
• 🧪💚 Often safer for the kidneys than long-term meds

Possible Cons ⚠️
• 💵 Higher up-front cost
• 🏥 Short hospital stay required
• 🚫🐱 Not ideal for cats with significant kidney disease
• 📅 Ongoing monitoring still needed

Today, Preciosa is thriving again — up from 7.5 pounds to almost 12! 🐈💪💖
Her story is a wonderful reminder that early diagnosis and the right treatment can give senior cats many more healthy, happy years😻

🐾 A Victory for the Whitehall Animals — The Lucky Ones Are Finally Safe♥️♥️♥️

😊Today we celebrate something truly powerful.
The German Shepherd and the other surviving animals from the Whitehall County Route 4 case have now been officially surrendered by court order.

The court has stripped Christopher McKinney of all rights to these animals.
They are safe, they are protected, and they will never return to the hands that failed them.
This is a win — for justice, for compassion, and for every single person who fought for them.

‼️🔔📢 Washington County Residents — Your Voice Is Needed TODAY at 10 AM

“THE FUNDING EXISTS. OUR COUNTIES JUST IGNORE IT.”
🔥SIGN and SHARE:https://chng.it/kbL65KmPrX

For more than three years, dog control and citizens begged for help.
Animals starved.
Animals died.
Animals were literally cannibalizing each other trying to survive.
This is something you expect in a third-world country, not here.

And what did our counties do?

NOTHING.
No shelter.
No system.
No plan.
No compassion.
Just pointing fingers and pretending “nothing can be done.”

But here’s the part that should anger EVERYONE:

🟥 **THE FUNDING TO BUILD A SHELTER EXISTS.

THE STATE IS LITERALLY OFFERING IT.**

Governor Kathy Hochul just announced $10 MILLION in funding

for shelter construction and improvements:

And here is the official state PDF listing all the shelters that received money this year:

Counties across NY applied…
Counties across NY were funded…
Counties across NY are building and expanding shelters…

But Warren and Washington County?
❌ Not on the list.
❌ Didn’t apply.
❌ Didn’t even TRY.
❌ And don’t have a shelter to apply WITH.

We aren’t being ignored because it’s “impossible.”
We’re being ignored because our counties refuse to move, refuse to try, and refuse to step into the 21st century of humane care.

This is unacceptable.
This is embarrassing.
This is DANGEROUS for animals AND law enforcement.

🟩 BUT THERE IS HOPE — AND IT STARTS WITH US.

We are nearly 1,700 signatures strong.
We MUST reach 2,000 and beyond to show the counties that the people are DONE being silent
📣 DECEMBER 1 — SHOW UP.

We need the county to SEE the community standing together.
Because if the funding exists,
and the state is offering help,
and the community is begging for action…
Why are the counties pretending this isn’t possible?

There is a major systemic failure happening in Warren & Washington Counties — and most people still don’t know it.

At this moment, our counties have:

❌ No county animal shelter
❌ No legal holding system for cruelty/neglect cases
❌ No clear procedural pathway for law enforcement or animal control
❌ No coordinated welfare response between agencies

Because of this, welfare cases linger for years. Reports are ignored. Officers don’t know what steps they are legally allowed to take. Animals are left in dangerous, neglectful conditions simply because there is no place to bring them.

This isn’t rumor.
This is the reality I face professionally as a veterinarian assisting these cases.

🌿 Why We’re Contacting NYS Ag & Markets

New York’s Department of Agriculture & Markets oversees animal-welfare law and county responsibilities under state statute.

We are requesting their oversight and review because Warren and Washington Counties currently have no operational system to fulfill even the minimum expectations of animal-welfare enforcement.

This is a statutory gap.
A procedural gap.
And most of all, a humanitarian gap.

🌟 Community Progress
Last night we held our second meeting at Ambrosia Diner, and it went extremely well. We are creating a plan.
We are all determined to take action.

We are continuing to:
• Send out community emails
• Educate residents
• Prepare formal communications to state agencies
• Build the momentum that is absolutely required to fix this broken structure

Nearly 1,700 people have already signed the pledge — and our movement grows every single day.

🐾 We Are Marching Forward

This is no longer about one case.
This is about systemic failure — and the community rising together to fix it.

Please share this message, attend town meetings, and stay tuned for action steps.
We will get the shelter and structure our counties have needed for decades.

Together, we are the voice for the voiceless. 🐾
SIGN the pledge because our voices cannot be ignored 📣💥 https://chng.it/kbL65KmPrX

🐾 THREE OF THE LUCKY ONES — WHITEHALL CASE

Before anything else, a quick correction:
I misspoke in my last post — there is no board meeting today.
I’m sorry for the confusion.

However…
I have reached out to request permission to speak at the Warren County Board Meeting on November 21st, and I am also working on securing permission for the Washington County Board Meeting on the same date.
As soon as I receive confirmation, I will update everyone.
Thank you for your patience and support. 💛

Now, back to what matters:

These three faces — the German Shepherd, the Black Lab, and the orange kitten — are three of the lucky ones from the Whitehall abuse case.

Lucky because one trooper finally acted.
Lucky because after years of ignored reports, someone refused to look away.
Lucky because they were pulled out of hell and given a chance to heal.

But here’s the nightmare part:
These animals are currently tied to a $49,000 bail bond, meaning the abuser could legally “buy” them back if he came up with the money.

This is the system we’re dealing with.
This is why we cannot stop.
This is why we are building momentum toward a county-operated shelter — a real refuge — for Warren and Washington Counties.

💥 Our movement continues to grow: nearly 2,000 pledges and counting.

Last week, 11 wonderful people gathered for our first community meeting.
This Friday at 6 PM, we meet again at Ambrosia Diner.
If you want to join us, message me directly.

📢 CALLING FOR ALL PHOTOS + COURT REMINDER‼️

If you have any photos or videos of the Whitehall Route 4 property before the animals were seized — I need your help.
There’s worry there are more animals again there!
These images may help show the long-term conditions these animals were living in and could strengthen the case.

If you’re willing:

📩 Message me directly with:
• The photo(s) or video
• The date they were taken (as close as you can remember)
• Your name, and whether you’d be willing to state that you took them

I can’t promise every image will be admissible, but it is absolutely worth trying. Your documentation could matter.

🔔 Reminder:
The first court date in the Whitehall case is TOMORROW, November 10th at 2:00 PM at Whitehall Town Court.

Please don’t let this fade into the background.
Show up if you can. Speak up if you can’t. Share this so it reaches the people who were there, saw it, and recorded it.

The animals finally got out. Now they need us to finish what was started.
