We’re thrilled to share some exciting news — we’ve officially partnered with Love at First Meow, a local 501(c)3 cat rescue doing incredible work right here in our community.

Love at First Meow is a fast‑growing, foster‑based rescue currently caring for 53 cats and kittens, with more arriving every week. Every cat in their care receives spay/neuter services, vaccines, microchipping, and is confirmed FIV/FELV negative before adoption. Their dedication to giving cats a safe, loving start is exactly why this partnership means so much to us.

Supporting the rescue community is a core part of who we are, and we’re honored to stand alongside an organization making such a meaningful impact.
As part of this partnership, we’re excited to offer discounted exam fees for all Love at First Meow adopters on their first visit, helping ensure every new furry family member begins their journey with a long, healthy, happy life.

If you’d like to get involved, they’re actively seeking volunteers and fosters.
Follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, or learn more at: https://loveatfirstmeow.org

UPDATE- HE HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH HIS FAMILY :)

📢 FOUND DOG – PLEASE SHARE 📢
This sweet furry friend was found wandering along Glen Ellyn Road. A kind Good Samaritan brought him in to keep him safe. 🐾💛
He was wearing a harness, and he does have a microchip, but unfortunately it is not registered, so we are unable to locate an owner at this time.
If you believe this is your dog, please contact us with proof of ownership (photos, vet records, etc.), and we will connect you with the Good Samaritan for an update.
⏳ If an owner is not located soon, he may be transferred to DuPage County Animal Control.
Please help us spread the word and get this pup back home where he belongs! 🏡🐶💕
📩 Message us directly with any information.

👀 A tiny look at a big problem…
This video shows a pet’s blood sample under the microscope. The clear top layer you see is called plasma, and just beneath it is a very thin middle layer—the ‘buffy coat’—which contains white blood cells and platelets, sitting between the plasma and the red blood cells. The entire tube is only about as wide as the tip of a pen… but look closely...

Those tiny, wiggling strands?
🦟 They are microfilariae—baby heartworms—circulating in the bloodstream.
Most pets with heartworm disease don’t show obvious signs early on. They can seem completely healthy while these parasites quietly affect the heart and lungs.

❤️ How common is this?
About 1 in 100 dogs tested in the U.S. is positive for heartworm
That adds up to an estimated over 1 million infected dogs nationwide
Heartworm has been diagnosed in all 50 states and continues to spread into new areas
Even here in the Midwest, cases are increasing—including reported hotspots in southern Illinois

💔 Why this matters:
Heartworm disease can become severe, costly, and even life-threatening if left untreated.
✅ The good news: It’s very preventable.
With simple monthly prevention and yearly testing, we can protect your pet and catch problems early.
🐾 What you can do:

Keep your pet on consistent heartworm prevention
Schedule annual heartworm tests
Ask us if you’re unsure what your pet needs

Even though these parasites are tiny, the impact they can have is huge. Prevention really does save lives. ❤️

🎉👶 Baby Shower Celebration for Dr. Hartigan 👶🎉

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Dr. Hartigan as she prepares to welcome her very first baby! 💕
Our team gathered to share laughs, gifts, and a little friendly competition as we guessed baby’s name and due date — it was a day full of joy and excitement for this special new chapter in her life.
Dr. Hartigan will be starting her maternity leave in June, and while we’ll certainly miss her, we are so thrilled for her and this beautiful new adventure! 🍼✨
Rest assured, our team is fully staffed, prepared, and ready to continue providing the same excellent care for you and your pets while she’s away. 🐾💙
Please join us in wishing Dr. Hartigan and her growing family all the love and happiness in the world! 💗
