I’m a true believer that great bird dogs must be developed with a solid foundation on wild birds. That’s why we travel thousands of miles every summer, pre hunting season, to work our puppies, break our derby dogs, and tune up our older dogs on wild sharptail, Huns, and pheasants.
Having that strong foundation on wild birds makes a huge difference when we bring them back to train on our wild quail, summer release quail, and ultimately doing hunts as finished dogs on supplemented birds with clients during the hunting season.
It’s one of the differences here at Backcountry Shooting Preserve that sets us apart!
