T-ICK! season started a while ago in Pennsylvania due to some of those early high temp days, but it’s never too late for a reminder. 👍🏼 As pet care providers, we’re very aware of the environments we’re walking in, and we do our best to keep the ticks away from your fur babies and ourselves. 🦮🚶🏻‍♀️Do you follow these tick tips below? They can really help!

✔️ Use a safe tick repellent on yourself and your clothes. Some are safe for use on pets as well! 🐾
✔️ Carry a tick key/tweezers, a magnifying glass, and a ziplock bag for removal. Identifying the tick species is important for treatment. 🔎
✔️ Wear light colored clothing and long pants when you’re out in nature. Make your skin difficult to access and make them easy to spot! 👀
✔️ Stay in the middle of the trail on hikes. Ticks will climb out to the end of leaves and grasses to catch a ride. They’re usually hanging out in brush that is 3-4 ft from the ground. 🌿
✔️ Check yourselves and your pets after spending time outside. Shower as soon as possible. They like nooks and crannies. 😳
✔️Carry a lint roller or tape with you to catch any ticks that might be crawling on your clothing. 🩳

Ticks are scary and we’re not fans. But we can’t let them stop us from enjoying the outdoors. Just try to be proactive and prepared! 🩵
