We appreciate your cooperation and support, and look forward to connecting with each of you, our loyal supporters! Serving Adams County since April 30,1976, the Adams County SPCA provides vital services to animals and people alike through sheltering and adopting animals, investigating animal cruelty and neglect, and rescuing animals in emergency situations. The Adams County SPCA is a private nonprofit organization that receives only approximately 1%of its annual operating budget of $650,000 from Adams County. We also receive donations from several townships/municipalities for our much needed services, but we continue to struggle to support the very important task of caring for the many animals that come through our doors. We do fundraising, memberships, apply for grants and receive some bequests. For the past couple of years, too many animals have become displaced orphans; a tragedy of these harsh economic times. We take in approximately 1500 animals per year and each year that number increases.

“Nine Lives Rescue Project”

A Joint Fundraiser by the Adams County SPCA & Forever Love Rescue at the Kitty Corner Gettysburg;

We need your help for a man with a heart as big as his love for animals. He has already beaten stage 4 throat cancer, but is now bravely fighting lung and thyroid cancer, all before his 63rd birthday. Despite his own struggles, he is caring for over 50 cats and kittens, most strays that found their way to him, several he witnessed people dumping from vehicles.
Sadly, only a few of these cats are spayed/neutered, and his health and medical bills have made it impossible for him to keep up. Knowing his time may be short, he came to us asking for help, because he refuses to leave this problem for someone else to clean up, and he refuses to leave the cats without care.

He has maxed out his Care Credit helping cats with medical needs, but they all need spay/neuter, vaccinations, and homes. The Adams County SPCA will be providing surgery, vaccines, medications, and other veterinary care, while Forever Love Rescue will be trapping, transporting, feeding, and rehoming the cats.

Our Goals:
1) Spay/Neuter & vaccinate ALL cats

2) Rehome friendly indoor cats
TNR (Trap-Neuter-Re-home) healthy outdoor cats to new barn homes

Why This Matters:
TNR not only prevents future litters but also improves cat health, stops the spread of diseases like rabies, reduces nuisance behaviors, and the cats help control rodents.

How You Can Help:
1) Donate via PayPal, check, or in person; please note “Nine Lives Rescue Project” in the memo line.

2) Offer to adopt a friendly cat or kitten.

3) Provide a safe barn home for a TNR’d community cat.

Forever Love Rescue is asking for: Monetary donations, Purina kitten food (dry), any kind of canned cat food, cat litter, kitten toys. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to our facility located at 39 Queen St Gettysburg PA 17325. We are in the building daily from 9-3. You can ring the doorbell on the side doors or drop off in the donation bin out front. You can also visit our website to find other ways to help and gain access to our wish lists at ForeverLoveRescue.com

Adams County SPCA is asking for: Monetary donation and puppy pads. Donations can be mailed or dropped off at our facility located at 11 Goldenville Rd Gettysburg, PA 17325 or you can make a donation on our website at adamscountyspca.org

Please share this post to spread the word!

All donations will be split between Adams County SPCA & Forever Love Rescue to directly cover the cost of care.
Together, we can honor this man’s love for his cats by making sure they are safe, healthy, and never left behind.

**The Adams County SPCA & Forever Love Rescue already work together weekly doing FREE TNR's for residents of Adams County. Any money raised above the cost of this project will still be split between the two non-profits so we can continue to help residents in Adams County who need help to get their outside cats fixed**

"Together we can make a difference" and that is "Why we do what we do"

Thank you for your support, the Nine Lives Rescue Project team!

💕ADOPTION!!💕

Sam was adopted from the ACSPCA in 2019, and lived happily with his adoptive family. But when his Dad recently passed away, he had no where to go, so we welcomed him back. Today he found a great home with this nice couple. They had met him before and fell in love, so when he came here, they applied for his adoption. Congratulations to Sam and his new family!

💕HAPPY TAIL!!💕

Remember Iris, the Pit Bull found chained by the side of the road? She spent a few weeks with us at the shelter, learning to trust humans again. Then she had several meetings with her new Daddy, until she felt safe enough to go for a walk with him. Look at her now! She truly has found her forever home.

Here are some pics of Iris, now Liberty, and an update from her Daddy:

"She is loving life with her new daddy. She loves going to the dog park and making lots of new friends (some even recognized her and knew her story). She loves playing ball and gets to go on vacation soon. She is living her best life and her new daddy couldn’t be happier with her!

💕HAPPY TAIL!!💕

One of our puppies is going to be famous! (Well, at least for kids!) Here's a Happy Tail we got about one of our past adoptees:

Hi! Back in April I got the pleasure to adopt Kooper, aka Captin Crunch. I wanted to share with you that he's going to be in a coloring book. I entered him in a contest, and I got notification he was chosen to be in the color book. He's doing great! He's getting big and has an outgoing personality!

💕UPDATE!! Ricky and Floyd have been adopted! Their new Mom & Dad have experience with Parakeets and are excited to bring these two into their home! Congratulations to Ricky & Floyd, and their new family!💕

💕🐦Meet Ricky (green) and Floyd (blue), two handsome parakeets who are ready to brighten someone’s home with their cheerful personalities. At about three years old, these bonded boys have been well-loved, but their family could no longer care for them.

They are friendly, happy, and love to fill the room with their sweet songs. Ricky and Floyd enjoy each other’s company, chattering and singing throughout the day, and would love a home where they can continue to be part of the family.

Whether you’re a seasoned bird owner or new to parakeets, these two will bring joy, color, and music into your life. Give them a safe, loving home, and they’ll reward you with endless chirps and charm.

If you would like to adopt Ricky and Floyd, please complete and submit an adoption application at the link below:

💕ADOPTION💕
Bean (the black dog) got adopted today! His new BIG sister, Ryleigh (Selena) was also adopted from the Adams County SPCA a few years ago. Congratulations to Ryleigh and Beans for getting to live their best life ever!

Extra special thank you to Ryleigh‘s mom for being so patient and understanding with her. She was extremely scared when she came to us. She had been neglected and abused for a very long time. Her mom said she never even untucked her tail until about five months after living with her. Now she is the happiest girl and loves everybody!
