We accept animals from residents within Scott County who have a current form of ID. We offer these pets for adoption to the public. The shelter accepts dogs, cats, and other animals, by appointment only, from residents who have a current ID, within our city and county. Please submit an owner surrender form to scottky.rescuegroups.org. We offer animals for adoption to the general public. Adoption f

ees: Dogs/Puppies $110 This includes spay/neuter, booster vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, heartworm test, fecal, flea treatment and microchip. Cats/Kittens $90 This includes spay/neuter, booster vaccine, rabies vaccine, combo test for feline leukemia and FIV, fecal, flea treatment and microchip. The shelter also partners with the Scott County Humane Society and multiple rescue organizations to find homes for animal in our care. We accept monetary donations as well as items we use on a daily basis. We do have a wish list posted in "photos" on our FB page or we will email you one upon request. Our email is [email protected].

Jack came in very thin and lots of scars. This 3 year old Lab mix is the sweetest guy and loves to get snuggles and belly rubs! He is very food/treat motivated (likely due to getting so thin) and training shouldn't be too hard for him at all!

Ronald had a such a good time during his visit to Biggby Coffee Georgetown, KY - 126 Amerson Way this morning! He wanted to look around a lot at first to take it all in, but was polite and waited for people to ask to meet him, which he was more than happy to do so! He absolutely loved his pup cup and licked up every bit of whipped cream (but declined the Milkbone this time). He was quiet and stayed nearby without any fuss while we paid for drinks, and even was good about sitting when asked just before leaving. We were so proud of him for walking calmly on a loose leash as we headed out the door, too!

Ronald is a 2 year old 62lb Hound/Lab mix who knows some basic commands, is completely housebroken, and very sweet and cuddly! He's also a lovely gentleman, very gentle and doesn't really jump up on anyone. We are honestly astounded he hasn't been snapped up yet and can't believe he's been here since November! He would love a family of his own to play with, maybe with a nice yard to run around in, and he'd make an excellent walking or jogging buddy! He seems to get along with other dogs, too, though a meet and greet for any potential doggy siblings is encouraged!

Last week during winter break, Helen had a school project to tell a story through photos. She decided she wanted to tell the story of "A Shelter Dog's Day Out!" 🦮 Our very own Reba (1 year old, 37lb female Hound mix) was more than happy to volunteer as the "Shelter Dog" and they both had a blast walking around the Park and getting in some quality play and cuddle time! Helen and her mom were also super sweet to donate a bag of food and get Reba her own big chew treat! Just look at her SMILE! 😁

Did you know that we allow people to take dogs out for a walk? You just need to be 18 (minors must be accompanied by an adult, like Helen did) and fill out some volunteer waiver paperwork! We'll even harness the dog for you! It's a great way to get working on those New Year resolutions to get some steps in🚶‍♀️or be more active! 🏃And we usually have plenty of dogs that absolutely would love to go on a walk! 🐶

Dog walking and other visits are available during our adoption viewing hours of 10am-4pm Monday thru Friday, and on special Saturdays that were open (Like January 10th and 24th from 10am-2pm!)
