We accept animals from residents within Scott County who have a current form of ID. We offer these pets for adoption to the public. The shelter accepts dogs, cats, and other animals, by appointment only, from residents who have a current ID, within our city and county. Please submit an owner surrender form to scottky.rescuegroups.org. We offer animals for adoption to the general public. Adoption f

ees: Dogs/Puppies $110 This includes spay/neuter, booster vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, heartworm test, fecal, flea treatment and microchip. Cats/Kittens $90 This includes spay/neuter, booster vaccine, rabies vaccine, combo test for feline leukemia and FIV, fecal, flea treatment and microchip. The shelter also partners with the Scott County Humane Society and multiple rescue organizations to find homes for animal in our care. We accept monetary donations as well as items we use on a daily basis. We do have a wish list posted in "photos" on our FB page or we will email you one upon request. Our email is [email protected].

Shaka is one of those larger than life, happy-go-lucky, kind of guy! At 80lbs, he is an impressive 4 year old Low Rider Slobber Moose, I mean, American Bulldog type. He's 30% head, 110% muscle, and 1000% game for playtime! He's a very good and smart boy; he already knows commands like Come, Sit, and we suspect Roll Over (belly rubs, please!) A meet and greet will likely be required for any potential doggy siblings due to his size, and we hear he's not a fan of cats, but is likely totally a fan of couches! If there are children in the home, we will ask that they are over the age of 10. He doesn't realize how big he is! So he might play too rough for younger kiddos.

To say this guy has a presence about him is an understatement. Yet he's open to cuddles and likes to explore. He's got some mats in his coat, some impressive "vampire teeth" at certain angles, and a tail that's just a tiny bit shorter than it should be, but we think this guy is ready for the indoor life!
