Cook Performance Horses had a great weekend at our last show of the year at Lakeside Arena in Frankfort, Kentucky.

🔥Darlins Cody Boy🔥
Owned by Karen Bailey and loved by all ❤️
Shown by Cutter Cook
🏆 First on Saturday AND Sunday with a clean sweep in the Limited Open, Intermediate Open, and unrestricted Open. Cody Boy was on fire and marked a HUGE 73.5 both days!

Colton Cook also showed Cody Boy to a second place 🥈 finish on Saturday AND Sunday in the Short Stirrup for riders under age ten. A testimate to how truly special this horse is, as there are not many who can win the professional class and turn around and pack a short stirrup’er around the ring the same day. Thank you so much to Karen Bailey for sharing this special animal. ❤️

🔷Colonels Special Gun
Owned by Karen Bailey

🥈Second place on Saturday across the board in the Limited Open, Intermediate Open and unrestricted Open. “Frost” scored a big 73 on Saturday and we will make the case that he had the best spins of the entire show.

🔷Mif USA and Hannah Rowland
🥈 Second on Saturday in Green One and KRHA green. We are excited to see what this team will accomplish next year!

🔷Dunit With A Dip MPH and Cary Roy
Solid rides in the Green division for this newer team to the CPH barn. We can’t wait to watch this team in 2026.

🔷Smart In A Dress & Elizabeth Chunglo
🏆 First in Novice Horse Non Pro Level One (Saturday)
🥉Third Limited Non Pro (Saturday)
Big accomplishments in very deep non pro classes!

🔷Trashed On Jac and Jenny Tolbert
🏅Fourth Rookie Primetime ( Saturday)
🏅Fifth Rookie Primetime (Sunday)

🔷Lotta Mobster and Laura Brown
🏆 First Rookie Primetime (Saturday)
🏆 First Rookie Level Two (Saturday)
🥈 Second Rookie Level One (Saturday)
🥉 Third Rookie Prinetime (Sunday)

🔷Topsails Littleprize and Caden Cook
🏆 First in Short Stirrup on Saturday AND Sunday! Thank you so much to Sam Brown for sharing “Sammy” and supporting Caden.

As we close out the year we send a big THANK YOU to:

Dr. Ashley Embly at Rood and Riddle Lexington who keeps our athletes feeling great.

Ryan Behne Horseshoeing who keeps our horses moving their best.

The First Lady of our Barn, Ashley Cook, who makes sure we have stalls, warm ups, and is everyone’s number one cheerleader. We wouldn’t want to do this without you!

Hands down we have the best barn family! Last weekend at Kentucky Reining Horse Associations Bourbon Slide our team showed up. Birthday girl Elizabeth Paris Chunglo had great runs all weekend. A few penalties kept her out of the money, but she had solid rides all weekend in Rookie and Novice Horse. Macy and Peaches did great in Youth and Green classes. Jenny Chapman-Tolbert and Chevy had nice runs in Rookie! Both pairs continue to improve with each show.

New to our barn family, both Alize Naud and Hannah Rowland have been working hard in lessons. Their hard work paid off on Sunday as they tied to win Green 1. Cary Roy also had a few solid runs in Green this weekend.

Cutter and Darlins Cody Boy were in the money all weekend in the open slates. Cutter and Colonel Special Guns tied for the win on Sunday to close the show. Last, but certainly not least Caden and Sammy showed for the first time in short stirrup. The duo did great winning their first class together. They will definitely be back in the show pen soon!

We are home from the Clayton Classic Reining and despite the oppressive heat and intermittent rain storms, our horses and team had a great show bringing home points, prizes, and over $3,600 in cash payouts. Our team highlight was a big win in the maturity on Saturday where Cutter piloted Karen Bailey’s beloved Darlins Cody Boy to the double level win with a score of 145.5!

The barn was full this morning as we prepared for Kentucky Reining Horse Association Clayton Classic later in the week. We can’t wait to see what are team does after the success last month at Indiana Reining Horse Association Summer Fun show. Last month, Laura Plue Brown and Lotta Mobster rocked the Rookie class with a sweep in Rookie 1, 2, and Prime time and made it into the Shoot Out.
