Thanks to your generous donations, Tilly is having her mammary tumor removed, a full panel of bloodwork, and a dental tomorrow. Keep her in your thoughts because if all goes well, she’ll be heading for her two-week-trial this week with a lovely family who has been patiently waiting for her. 💜💚

Setting up dogs for success with their future families is one of our core values. We don’t want to just house animals until the next stop on the road, we want to prepare them to be well adjusted pets in their forever homes.
Walter will be neutered on Monday and with his completed vetting, he’s technically available for adoption. But the truth is: Walter isn’t ready. The emotional scars from his traumatic past are more than skin deep. Even being fostered by a behaviorist, he’s struggling.
So along with a neuter and nose surgery, we’re going to get Walter on some medication to settle the storm in his mind. We’re going to give him more time to decompress and learn to trust humans again. We’re still going to process his applications, but we’re going to be 100% honest about his issues and set up a behavior plan that adopters must follow once he IS ready for his forever home.
Because it’s important to us that Walter is neutered, and it’s important that he’s able to use his nostrils to breathe, and it’s important that he finds a safe and stable forever home. But it’s also important that Walter FEELS safe and stable and that his emotional pain is addressed as much as his physical.

Linus has a crush on our petite princess Ezmay. He even tried to hold her hand. He was quickly friend-zoned though because we all know Ezmay only has eyes for Mac. Sorry Linus!

Our romancer is still available for adoption! He’s about 12 months old, 55 pounds, and good with other dogs with proper intros. No cats or small animals but small humans are his favorite.

We’re thankful for our members every day but is a great opportunity to appreciate the SoulPeople in our rescue. Sheryl has been volunteering with animals way before SPR was created. She’s an experienced foster, dedicated GCAC volunteer, and our Application Coordinator. For every application we get, Sheryl has to interveiw not only the applicant, but the vet and personal references too. It’s a lot of work and we’re so appreciative of her (especially our introverted members who fear phone interaction 😂.) She also does a ton of transporting, and is our official SoulBaby-sitter when there’s rescue work to be done. We are so lucky to have her. Thanks a million Sheryl!

Our sweet, terrified, Ezmay ran out of her foster's front door in a panic. She is extremely fearful of people, traffic, and loud noises, so we ask that you report any sightings immediately but PLEASE DO NOT CHASE. If you can, follow at a distance and call (810) 252-3564

Ezmay was last seen about 1:00 am at Quail Ridge Apartment complex off M15 in Davison, near Kroger. She is wearing a white collar with pink floral designs, and a green bone shaped ID tag. We know Ezmay is terrified, please help us bring her home, we are all worried sick.

This beauty is Bella. As a former outreach pup, she’s lovin’ being an inside dog. She loves all aspects of life as a pet— car rides, couches, treats, and meeting new people. Her foster mom says she’s a quick learner, great snuggler, and daily snorer. She’s crate and potty trained, kid and dog friendly (with the right introductions), completely vetted, and ready for her forever home. To the breeder who commented on our Gigi post advertising her frenchie puppies. Gigi’s life has been one of pain. She is on medication for a skin infection due to years of neglect. Her tail is so inverted that the rest of her back end has grown around it; her deep folds have to be cleaned regularly to prevent infection. She is constantly fighting for air because her face is flat, and her nostrils are barely functional. A long walk, or even a short one on a hot day could be life threatening. Her existence is so uncomfortable that she needs surgery to correct the mistakes of her poor breeding. Walter has fared better physically, but his emotional scars are far more prevalent. Your comment has been removed. We will not allow you to use their suffering for your personal profit. We are not on the same team.

Gigi is finally out of her heat cycle, so she wanted us to post and remind everyone to PLEASE spay and neuter their pets! Not only is being in heat uncomfortable and messy, wearing a diaper for a week is just embarrassing. 🙈
