Microgreens are tiny vegetables and herbs that are harvested at their maximum nutrient density, at the formation of the first "true leaves" of the plant. In 2012, a study published at the Unive

rsity of Maryland concluded that microgreens contain between 4 and 40 times the nutrient density of their full grown relatives. Thus, a tablespoon of raw microgreens is a full serving of vegetables. In addition to their superfood properties, microgreens pack tremendous flavor into a small bite. The team at Sweet Peas Urban Gardens believes that urban farming is fundamental to the creation of healthy, sustainable food production for our growing metropolitan society. Hey market friends, quick update for this weekend! We will not be at the farmers market this Saturday, August 8th, because Tami is off on an exciting adventure traveling in Peru!

We’re wishing her the most amazing trip and are secretly hoping she figures out how to smuggle an alpaca back as a farm mascot. (Think they'd make good microgreen taste-testers? 🦙🌱)

Grab your favorite beverage and come hang out with us at the garden! We’ve got some fun projects lined up to get our hands in the dirt together.

🌿 Getting a little weeding done to keep the garden thriving
