Gainesville Canine Academy Teaching humans to speak dog! We offer friendly training for you and your dog. We specialize in service dog training for PTSD, C-PTSD, and anxiety.

Canine Academy will help you solve your dog's behavior issues quickly and effectively. If your dog exhibits behaviors that make it difficult for you to have guests over, take him for walks, or enjoy your time together, contact us so we can help. Training is done either in our office in Gainesville, or at your home with you

and your family with your dog. You will learn what your dog is trying to accomplish with the misbehavior and how to refocus his behavior so that you are able to better communicate with your dog. Your time with your dog should be fun and enjoyable for both of you. Let our years of experience help you have fun with your dog!

Some of you may remember Georgia the Spokesdog , with her legendary costumes, smile, and heart. 💜 She was heavy on my mind yesterday when I was working with a dog learning to be brave. ❤️ I'm so fortunate to have shared space with this incredible dog, and her lessons live on in every scared dog I work with, every person I teach to help scared dogs, and every person who loves a dog who struggles with confidence. 💖

Sometimes service dogs are required to work where other service dogs could be present. That is why it is important to desensitize working dogs to other dogs! The key is to do that in a way that doesn’t overload the dog with stress, and to set them up with reasonable and achievable goals. Maverick and Bear did a great job ignoring each other !

Sitting on the outside of dog parks can be a great way to desensitize your dog to the sight of other dogs! Bring water and your dogs fav treats to the park. Any time they look at you instead of the other dogs, they get a tasty treat! Dogs don’t have to play inside the park to benefit from them.
