‼️ Rabies Confirmed in Fryeburg‼️
A positive case of rabies has been confirmed in downtown Fryeburg after a raccoon was found on a resident’s doorstep.
Please make sure your pets are up to date on their rabies vaccinations. This is not just a recommendation - it’s the law in Maine for both cats and dogs. Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms appear and poses a serious risk to both humans and animals.
• Please double check that your pets are vaccinated.
• Keep pets supervised and avoid contact with any wildlife.
• Report any animals acting strangely to your local Animal Control or IF&W.
• Don’t touch or handle wild or stray animals - even if they seem injured or friendly.
