We love Halloween, but it can be full of hidden hazards for our four-legged family members.

Keep these quick safety rules in mind:
No Candy: Chocolate, candy corn, and anything sweetened with xylitol are toxic to pets.
Secure Costumes: Ensure any costume doesn't restrict your pet's breathing, vision, or movement.
Safe Decor: Keep glow sticks, lit candles, and fake cobwebs well out of paws' reach.
Keep Calm: If your pet gets stressed by frequent doorbells, set up a quiet, cozy retreat away from the front door.

🐾 It’s National Pet Obesity Awareness Day! 🐶🐱

Did you know that more than half of all dogs and cats in the U.S. are considered clinically overweight or obese?
While a little extra padding might look cute, those extra pounds can seriously impact your furry best friend's health and lifespan.

Excess weight puts our pets at a higher risk for:
🦴 Joint pain & arthritis (from carrying extra load)🍬 Diabetes (requiring lifelong management)
❤️ Heart & breathing issues
⏳ A shorter overall lifespan

How to check your pet at home:
Can you easily feel their ribs without pressing hard? Do they have a clear waistline and a visible tuck in their tummy when viewed from the side? If your pet "can't find their waist," it might be time for a chat with the vet!

Simple ways to help them get back on track:
Measure meals: Ditch the scoop-and-guess method and use an actual measuring cup.
Smart treats: Cut back on table scraps and high-calorie snacks; swap in veggies like carrots or green beans.
Get moving: Add an extra 10 minutes to daily walks or use puzzle feeders for mental and physical stimulation.
Consult your vet: Ask your veterinary team to help you calculate your pet's ideal weight and daily calorie goals!
