Did you know that APS-FH thrives because of generous donations from our community? From food to towels to toys, your contributions help us care for the animals who need us most. 🐶🐱

Here are some items we gratefully accept:
🦴 Opened or unopened pet food (wet/dry) & treats
🛏 Gently used towels, blankets & pet beds
🎾 Toys, collars, leashes & harnesses
🧼 Cleaning supplies (think paper towels, laundry detergent, bleach)
🧺 Crates, carriers, litter, cat trees, scratching posts

Not sure if we can use something? Give us a quick call first! 📞

And here’s the best part—items we can’t use at the shelter are passed along to our Pet Food Pantry, supporting islanders in need. 🤝🐾

🚐🐾 Incoming transport alert! 🐶🐶🐶🐱

We’re excited to welcome 3 sweet dogs and 1 adorable cat arriving soon from Eastern Washington, thanks to our amazing transport partner ARFS - Animal Rescue Friends Society of Grant Co., Wa! 💛

These pets have made a big journey in search of a second chance, and we’re so grateful to ARFSgc for helping them take that important first step toward their forever homes.

Upon arrival, all animals will undergo a brief medical and behavioral evaluation, then soon after be ready for Meet and Greets.

Until then, feel free to stop by the shelter and fill out a short inquiry form, or our adoption application online, to express interest in any of the animals arriving! 🐾

Our sweet girl Aurora took a field trip to the beach—and let’s just say, she loved every salty, sandy second of it! With her ears in the breeze, paws in the sand, and nose to the wind, Aurora was in her element. 🐶💛

Whether she was splashing at the water’s edge, exploring tidepools, or rolling around in pure joy, Aurora reminded us just how much she craves connection and adventure.

Ash, a DSH grey/white cat has not been seen since the evening of 7/10. He is a neutered and microchipped male with blue eyes.

He lives near Argyle/Mullis/North Bay Lane area.

Our sweet girl Millie went on a big adventure yesterday — a field trip up Young Hill! She had the best time sniffing every fern, following every animal scent, and soaking in the stunning views from the top.

Millie is an adventurous spirit with a gentle soul — the perfect hiking buddy who’s always up for some fresh air and fun. She’s still looking for her forever home, and we know someone out there is ready to explore life with this amazing girl by their side. 🐕

AM I YOURS? FOUND CAT!

A good samaritan has found this skittish, but friendly orange cat wandering their property over the past few weeks. Young orange tabby with long hair and white puff on the end of his/her tail. No microchip or ID tags. He/she was found around Island Meadows on Carter Street and in the vacant lot across the street.

AM I YOURS? FOUND CAT!

A good samaritan brought in this friendly black cat yesterday evening (7/10). Black short hair with white spot on chest and stomach. Neutered older male with front declaw. No microchip or ID tags. He was found around the Hillcrest Place area.
