Kit-tea was a blast!😻😻😻 Yummy treats, face painting, arts & crafts and kittens galore!

All of our sweet kittens got adopted and some of our purrfect adult cats found their new home!

Sprocket’s DNA results are IN...and this little guy kept us guessing right to the very end! He’s a true variety pack! 😆 No wonder everyone had such different guesses, Sprocket is truly a one-of-a-kind pup.

A huge thank you to our transport partner .gc for helping Sprocket make his way to APS-FH!

And the best news of all? Sprocket has found his happily ever after! 🏡❤️ He’s off living his best life with a family of his very own.

That’s 15 tails wagging in new backyards, 15 cozy spots claimed on couches, 15 families made a little bigger, and 15 happily-ever-afters beginning right here at APS-FH. 🐶🐱✨

Every adoption is a reminder of why we do what we do. From shy first meetings to instant connections, watching our animals find the people they were meant for never gets old.

To everyone who adopted, fostered, volunteered, donated, shared posts, or cheered these pets on from afar - thank you for being part of their journey. Because of this amazing community, 15 deserving animals are sleeping in their forever homes tonight. ❤️

This sweet girl turned out to be Akita & German Shepherd, with a dash of Supermutt! Her supermutt categories are Siberian Husky, Chow-Chow, and Russell Terrier.

Demi is the perfect blend of loyal protector and gentle best friend. With her unique mix, she brings together intelligence, devotion, and a calm, loving spirit. She’s the kind of dog who stays close to her people, watches the world with quiet confidence, and melts hearts with her sweet nature and soulful eyes.

Incoming transport alert…and it’s officially a girl party at APS-FH 💅

Please help us welcome two adorable new arrivals coming all the way from South Texas through our wonderful partners at !

💛 Yogurt — female shepherd mix, ~3 years old, ~45 lbs
💛 Penny Lane — female chihuahua mix, ~1 year old, ~12 lbs

These sweet girls are bringing the cuddles, charm, and cuteness in very different sizes…but equally large amounts.

We’re so excited to welcome them to the island and help them find the loving homes they deserve. Stop by the shelter to fill out a quick inquiry form, or complete our online adoption application to express interest in any of them!

APS-FH had so much fun spending the day with our community, sharing the journeys of our adoptable animals, and connecting with so many kind families and young animal lovers.

We loved seeing all the smiling faces, thoughtful questions, and excitement for shelter pets and animal welfare. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared stories with us, and helped make the day so meaningful!

Sprocket is officially entering his “Guess That Breed” era… and honestly, we have NO idea what’s going on here.

This scruffy little guy made his way to us from Central Washington thanks to our amazing transport partner ARFSgc, and his foster generously donated a DNA test to help us solve the mystery! 🧬

Now we wait for the results…but until then, it’s your turn to investigate 👀

At APS-FH, we are especially grateful for the compassion, courage, and dedication shown by so many in our community, including the service members, veterans, military families, and supporters who continue to make a difference both for people and for animals in need.

As we spend time with loved ones this weekend, we also reflect on the meaning of this day and remember those who gave so much.

Thank you to those who have served, those who continue to serve, and the families who stand beside them. We wish everyone a safe, peaceful, and meaningful Memorial Day. ❤️🤍💙
