Dina is ready for pool season! 😎🌊

Dina A016976 is a female 1-year-old Husky mix who loves playing in the water. 🥰 She can be a little timid at first when she first meets you, but after a few treats and some patience, she opens up in no time! In the play yard, she loves running around and playing chase. She enjoys pets and love from humans and is friendly with other dogs. Dina is an easy-going gal! 💕

Peter is cute as can be, and he's ready to be your new best friend! 🐶

Peter was found tied to a tree at a park with an injury to his leg. 😭💔 After some time and attention from our medical team, Peter is feeling as good as new! This handsome guy is a rockstar Em-Bark participant and does well on the leash after he gets some wiggles out. 🐕 Peter is very dog-friendly and enjoys playing with other pups. 🐾 If you're interested in meeting the adorable Peter, visit us at 5277 E. In celebration of Animal Control Appreciation Week, we’d like to introduce to some of our incredible Animal Resources Officers! 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️🐾

We asked them what their favorite part of their job is, and here are their responses:

Officer Vang: “Being able to reunite families with their pets while keeping the community safe and providing resources.”

Officer Thacker: “It’s nice having a job that feels like you’re doing something important!”

Officer Va: “We get to help the community, including the unhoused. Our job gives us the ability to provide resources to people to help them keep their animals when that’s all they have.”

Officer Hernandez: “Getting to help the community and working with people in need.”

We are so grateful for all of the hard work our Animal Resources Officers do to make our community a better place for humans and animals! Our ARO’s and the outreach they do on a daily basis is a key part of Fresno Animal Center’s success, and they deserve to be celebrated today and everyday!

Congratulations to Jesse Gonzalez for 25 years of service at the City of Fresno! 🏆

Jesse started his career at the department of Fresno Area Express (FAX).🚍 He was a bus driver for 6 years and a Transit Supervisor for 18 years. The Animal Center was excited to welcome a seasoned supervisor, and Jesse has been an Animal Field Supervisor for 1 year. Throughout his years of dedicated service, Jesse has enjoyed providing the skills and tools for others to be successful. Jesse is always cracking jokes and is willing to fire up the grill for any employee celebration.🌭 We are so thankful for all Jesse does for the Animal Center—cheers to 25 more years with the City of Fresno!🎉

Brennan has been in our care for over 30 days with no interest. 💔 He entered our care with his sister, and thankfully, she’s been adopted, but now Brennan is all alone. 😭 Upon first meeting, Brennan can be a little shy and hesitant in the kennel, but he turns into a different dog once his feet hit the grass! 🤩🌳 He is VERY playful and would benefit from having another dog to play with in the home. 🏡🐕

Wait a minute…are you wondering why we call our officers Animal Resource Officers (ARO)? 🤔 Every day, our officers are providing knowledge and resources to our City residents. They are out in the community problem-solving. AROs take significant risks to make an impact and to support our community members. Our wonderful Dispatchers play a crucial role in connecting community members with AROs. 🤝 We are so happy to celebrate all of these individuals for the amazing things they do for our City! 💙
