IRON HORSE DRESSAGE

Iron Horse Dressage, LLC is a World Class Equestrian Facility designed and built by Wendy McKelvy, AIA. Wendy is an architect and dressage rider. She started taking riding lessons in dressage as an adult when her children were teens. She started with one lesson a week, arranged around her work schedule. One lesson a week turned into a passion. When her husband took a job in Colorado in 2010, she took the opportunity to quit her job and start riding full time. That is where she met and started training with Grant and Sharon Schneidman and Nicole Gluesenkamp of Westmanton Stables. Within a few years, under Westmanton’s training, she earned her bronze medal. When Westmanton Stables had to leave their facility due to unforseen circumstances, the McKelvy’s and Schneidman’s decided to partner up and create a dressage facility near Denver Colorado. In 2011, Ms. McKelvy designed and built Iron Horse Farms in Elizabeth, CO. It quickly became the premier dressage facility in Colorado. Their clients call it the ‘Harvard of Dressage’ and due to Westmanton’s incredible training and horse care, has had a waiting list since its inception.

In 2015, due to another job opportunity, the McKelvy’s made a move to Weston, MA. In 2017, they made the difficult decision to sell IHF in Colorado and build a new facility near Boston. Fortunately, Grant, Sharon and Nicole agreed to move with us and keep our partnership intact.

In the fall of 2018, the McKelvy’s broke ground on Iron Horse Dressage, LLC. It will open in the summer of 2019 and will provide services not offered anywhere else in Massachusetts. Between the state of the art facility and the unmatched training and horse care of Westmanton Stables, Iron Horse Dressage will be THE premier dressage facility in New England. We expect it to be full with a waiting list soon after opening.
