🐾 Cat of the Week: Queenie 🐾

Queenie is a sweet, easygoing girl with the perfect mix of affection and independence. She loves being near her people and keeping you company, but she’s also perfectly happy doing her own thing.

One of her cutest habits is hopping onto the bed each morning just to say good morning. 🥹 She enjoys being held and loved on, especially when she gets to decide when cuddle time begins and ends.

Queenie gets along with both cats and dogs and would thrive in a calmer home that appreciates her gentle personality. And with her beautiful tabby stripes, cream-colored face, and little touches of butterscotch, she’s pretty hard to resist. 🤎

If you’re looking for a sweet companion who doesn’t need to be the center of attention but will always be close by, Queenie might be your girl.

🐾 Pookie’s Story — Your North Texas Giving Day Gift Makes Stories Like Hers Possible 🐾

At just 5 weeks old, little Pookie crawled out from underneath a house with a string tightly wrapped around her left hind leg. 💔

The person who found her quickly removed the string, but sadly, it had been there too long. The damage to her leg was permanent.

That’s when Meowtown Animal Rescue stepped in.

Pookie came into our care needing extra attention while her injured leg healed and she grew stronger. Through everything she went through, this tiny kitten never lost her incredibly sweet spirit. She was gentle and patient, purred generously, and played like absolutely nothing was wrong. ❤️

Ultimately, the remaining portion of her injured leg had to be surgically removed, making Pookie officially tri-pawed.

Has that slowed her down? Not one bit! Today, Pookie runs, plays, climbs, cuddles, and enjoys life just like any other kitten. She simply does it on three paws.

Pookie is one of the special kittens who reminds us why we do this work.

🐾 Cat of the Week: Elliot 🐾

Named after actor Sam Elliott, this handsome little guy has the white mustache, long whiskers, and salt-and-pepper coat to match. He’s sweet, easygoing, playful, and loves other cats.

Elliot also has a thing for shopping bags. Bring home groceries and he’ll happily hop right in to investigate every crinkle. 😂

His story started outside, where he was found severely underweight, covered in fleas and mange, and missing much of his fur. With lots of love and care, Elliot has made an incredible transformation into the healthy, happy boy he is today.

Now all he needs is a forever family to complete his glow-up. ❤️

🐾 Cat of the Week Part 2: Alberto🐾

Alberto has two speeds: full-speed adventure and completely asleep on your shoulder. 😂

This confident little guy LOVES people and wants to be part of everything. He’ll play, explore, follow you around, and then happily curl up in your arms when he’s worn himself out.

Alberto was the only survivor of his litter and was bottle-fed from just a few days old, so he’s been a people-loving little guy from the very beginning. He even has the cutest leftover bottle-baby habit of gently wagging his tongue after eating wet food. 🥹

He’d love a home with plenty of companionship, whether that’s people who are around often or another playful cat to keep him company.

🐾 Cat of the Week: Asher 🐾

Asher is the definition of a gentle soul. He loves soft blankets, plastic spring toys, wet food, and treats, but his favorite thing of all is making biscuits on the fluffiest blanket he can find.

If you notice Asher’s tipped ear, it’s because he was once part of a feral cat colony. When he first showed up, he was starving and so scared that his foster mom thought he was truly feral. After he was neutered and returned, he made himself right at home in her backyard shed and slowly started showing everyone who he really was… a total lovebug. 🐞

Once he trusts you, Asher is incredibly affectionate, loves being held, and is happiest just relaxing nearby. He gets along well with other cats and would thrive in a quiet home where he can settle in at his own pace and enjoy the soft, comfortable life he deserves.

If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion, Sandy might just be your perfect match. He loves being around people and has the kind of personality that makes it feel like he’s always belonged. Whether he’s relaxing nearby, following you around the house, or greeting you with his sweet little meow, Sandy is happiest just being with his people.

He enjoys a little playtime here and there, but he’s mostly a professional lounger. And when it’s mealtime? You’ll see him come trotting over like he’s been waiting all day.

Sandy would love to be the only cat in the home, where he can soak up all the attention he deserves. Sandy is ready to find a forever home where he can be someone’s favorite part of the day. 🤍

Our second Kitten Yoga was a success! 🧘🐱💛

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of yoga, kitten cuddles, and supporting Meowtown Animal Rescue. Every class helps raise awareness for our adoptable cats and kittens, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came out to be part of it.
