I hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day. Check out this MASSIVE red stag from New Zealand! He has the craziest, most palmated antlers I've seen on a red deer.

Happy Monday, folks! Here's a beautiful Himalayan Tahr from New Zealand. Like all big game mammals to hunt in New Zealand, Tahr are an introduced species there. These goat-like animals are native to the Himalayan mountain range in Asia. As far as tahr horn size goes, this bull is an excellent specimen with great horns!

A nice fan for your Friday! Here's something a little different. Have you ever thought about getting your turkey European mounted? Plenty of us keep our deer skulls, but you can keep your turkey skulls too! They are a beautiful addition to the ensemble of a turkey's tail fan, spurs, and beard. Even if you shoot your turkey in the head with a shotgun (like this one was at 30yds, evident by a few pellets still lodged in the skull) a skull mount is on the table. Just maybe consider it before you pop ol' Tommy turkey at 5 steps with your 20ga next time you're up to bat. 😉

An old one-eyed brute of a whitetail in an aggressive posed wall pedestal. I love trying to capture the character and attitude of each of these animals, to the glory of the God that made them from scratch. Thank you for choosing Tanner's Wildlife Artistry!

Pretty cape on this southeast KS buck. Lots of mass in those asymmetrical antlers too!

A wide curl Arapawa sheep from New Zealand.
This breed of sheep, native to New Zealand where they roam wild, are known for their thick wooly coats and large curling horns. These sheep are most commonly a solid dark brown color, so individuals with white markings on their face are highly sought after as more unique trophies. Their wool is typically full of grass seeds, sticks, and other foliage from the mountainous landscapes where they roam. The stuff is nearly impossible to clean from their wool without stripping the wool itself out.
