Well, I suppose everyone deserves an explanation. So, I'm going to tell you what's going on.
Since moving back, I just stayed so busy I completely forgot about keeping this page updated. But please keep in mind, I live by myself on a small farm, and do everything myself! Working on the house, grooming, yard work, mending fences, taking care of animals, cleaning, shopping, cooking, laundry, etc., etc. I do everything alone, entire families share the responsibilities of. I've honestly tried to remember to keep this page updated. But, I've failed miserably at it.
My deepest apologies to everyone.
Now, comes more bad news.
I came down really sick the middle of April. Couldn't keep food down, breathing was horrendous, no physical strength or energy. Multiple rounds of antibiotics and steroids didn't help. I just kept getting progressively worse. So bad, I was stuck in my chair for 2 days, because I didn't have the strength to even stand up without falling down or passing out. Which led to test after test, after test. With no answers!!
I finally was asked if I'd had any tick bites. Of course I have! Many! I live on a farm!
They tested me for ALL tick borne illnesses. Everything came back negative, except one! Alpha Gal came back a high positive!
I find out I have to eliminate all mammal and mammal derivatives from my diet.
What a nightmare! Because nearly everything we consume and use in our lives on a daily basis has mammal in it in some form or another.
I have since done that (I think?). But, I'm still not getting better. Even foods I'm suppose to be able to safely eat, that absolutely have no mammal in them, my body won't accept, and they don't know why? I only weighed 107lbs prior to getting sick, and my current weight is now 89lbs!
I'm still pushing myself to maintain the grooming business, the farm, and everything else. But it's getting harder and harder to do with each passing week. Because I can't keep enough nutrients in me to gain any weight, strength, or energy.
If I lose the grooming, I lose the farm, and if I lose the farm, I lose my beloved animals!! Anybody that knows me, knows how committed I am to protecting the safety and health of my animals.
I already lost them once a couple of years ago due to a false terminal diagnosis. It didn't turn out well for some of the animals either. They are no longer alive. So, I'm fighting with everything that I have in me, to keep the ones I was able to get back safe, healthy, and alive. They are my motivation to keep pushing myself to get answers about my illness and hopefully to start feeling better. I won't put them thru that again!
I guess the reason I'm telling everyone about this is because your business is part of the equation. I depend on the grooming to keep everything going around here. I've just had to slow down some, in the fact that some days I can still get your pup groomed in an hour. Some days it may take me 2 hours. Because I never know from day to day how I'm gonna feel, or how fast or slow I'm going to be able to move.
So, I'm asking everyone to please be patient with me. Because without you, I lose everything.
And, just an fyi.....
If you've been bitten by a tick and start feeling poorly. Please, get yourself tested!!!
This is NOT a disease you want!! It's life altering in ways you can't even begin to imagine, and very difficult to navigate. Because Drs. really don't know much about it, and there definitely is no cure. It's so bad, I'm not sure I'm going to survive it. Because I only have a handful of things so far that I can eat and keep down, and I'm so sick of eating them, just thinking about eating them again makes me want to throw up!
This isn't living, and it's not even surviving!!
So please be extra careful because these tick diseases have exploded everywhere!!
I'm still fighting. But, it sure isn't easy. Especially when you have no support or help.
