Conclusion of the Carolina Classic yesterday afternoon! Luis Figueroa finished with a reserve in 36-48 months pleasure colts on Alado. Than he brought home a first place in pleasure mares 85 months and older and won the championship on Doña Neva! 🥇🏆❤️

Day two of the Carolina Classic is underway!
Amateurs rode first today so Meghan Winlack started off the day showing Apolo 61-84 months. She won the class than went back in and won the Championship! 🍾🥇🏆Excited for what the future holds for this beautiful stallion.
Meghan Winlack than rode Alado de la Rosa one of our home bred babies, they showed in pleasure colts 36-48 months. He was very natural and unfazed by entering the show ring. They placed first. And last but definitely not least Meghan showed our beloved Doña Neva in pleasure mares 85 months and old and brought home a blue in both class and championship!

Started off the day strong at the Carolina Classic in Clemson SC,with Luis Figueroa bringing home reserve in performance stallions on Apolo!

So much has happened in the last month it feels like it’s been a year. I’m so far behind in welcoming Luis Figueroa to the La Rosa family. We are extremely excited to have him. And can’t wait for what the future holds.
Early January Naiad welcomed a beautiful filly “Catalina”. However, we were not yet ready for her arrival as she joined us pretty early at 310 days gestation. She did require round the clock bottle feeding every 1-2 hours for the first 8 days. Thankfully, she is doing well, is very spunky and full of personality.
“ The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away”
Unfortunately, the storm this week brought us tradagity. We lost our home grown boy Valiento due to complications from a severe impaction. This loss has been horrific, he was so young at three and a half. And had such a promising future. The severe cold weather is nothing to take lightly.
I want to say thank you Luis Figueroa so much for all of your sleepless nights this past month. And for your willingness to jump out of bed and assist me around the clock this past month, in the freezing cold.
Life is so fragile and to never be taken for granted. Valiento de la Rosa 🌹 was so loved and will not ever be forgotten 💔💔💔.
