🐾 Animal Rights Awareness Week 🐾
June 16–22, 2025

At Canine Assisted Therapy, we’re proud to celebrate Animal Rights Awareness Week by shining a light on what animal welfare looks like right here in South Florida.

Animal rights go beyond kindness—they’re about protecting the most vulnerable, giving animals a voice, and holding ourselves accountable for their well-being. In South Florida, that means:

✅ Supporting local shelters and rescues
✅ Reporting neglect or abuse to animal control or police
✅ Understanding laws around tethering, abandonment, and proper care
✅ Advocating for humane treatment in everything from pet ownership to wildlife protection

South Florida is home to incredible animal advocacy groups, and we’re proud to be part of a community that values compassion and respect for all living beings. Our therapy dogs give love so freely—let’s honor them by protecting animals everywhere!

The Human-Animal Alliance founder Jackie Ducci recently stopped by C.A.T.’s HQ in Fort Lauderdale for an in-person visit—and let’s just say, it was love at first wag. ❤️ From hospitals to classrooms to senior centers and more, their certified therapy dog and handler teams are making an incredible impact everywhere they go - and it is an honor to support them! 🐶

One of our therapy dogs, Sam, just got the ultimate surprise — a birthday party thrown by one of the amazing facilities we visit, The Palms at Plantation!

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. When a facility goes out of its way to celebrate one of our dogs, it shows just how deep the bond goes. It’s not just about visits or routines — it’s about connection, joy, and the healing power of love on both ends of the leash.

Thank you to The Palms at Plantation for making Sam and his owner Marissa feel so seen and special. You’ve reminded us all that kindness is contagious, and that sometimes, it wears a party hat!

🌪️ June is National Pet Preparedness Month! 🐾

Hurricane season is here — and just like your family, your pets need an emergency plan too. 🐶🐱 At Canine Assisted Therapy, we care about the safety of every pet and their humans. Take time now to prepare, so you’re not caught off guard if a storm hits!

✅ Here's your Pet Hurricane Prep Checklist:

✔ Stock pet food, extra water, & supplies (leash/harness, crate, litter bags)
✔ Pack medications & comfort items (toys, blanket, calming chews)
✔ Check ID tags & update microchip info
✔ Identify pet-friendly shelters or hotels
✔ Give pets time outdoors before the storm (for potty breaks & exercise)

Our pets depend on us — let’s prepare & keep them safe! 🐾

We had a great time time at Museum of Discovery and Science 'A Day in K' event on June 4th! Miss Penny hosted a fun story time where she read 'The Three Little Pigs' to the children in attendance. We were thrilled to have furry friends from Canine Assisted Therapy, Inc. join us during our story time 🐾

Our KidVision team handed out fun take home gifts such as Daniel Tiger books and headbands at the South Florida PBS booth. Thank you to the MODS team for having us!

🐾 PAWS to DE-STRESS! 🐶
Therapy dogs Nala, Aibo and Cody brought the calm to CopyCat Legal PLLC!

From tail wags to belly rubs, our furry volunteers helped the hardworking team take a break, breathe, and recharge. They know that sometimes, the best way to beat stress… is with a dog in your lap.
