We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to Almost Home Iowa for opening their doors to us during a time of uncertainty.

When our salon was temporarily without a home, Almost Home generously offered their meet & greet room so we could continue caring for the pets we love. They didn’t just give us space, they gave us stability, kindness, and the chance to keep doing what we’re passionate about.

Because of their generosity, we were also able to give 10 shelter pups baths and get them ready for their furever homes. 🛁🐶💖 Helping them feel their best as they wait for adoption was such a special part of this journey.

It’s hard to put into words how much that support meant. Their team showed us what true community looks like, stepping in without hesitation to help another small business stay on its feet.

From all of us at Britt’s Spaw: thank you for being there when we needed it most. You are an incredible part of this town, and we’re honored to have partnered with you during this time.

🐾✨ We’ve Officially Moved! ✨🐾

From concrete floors and dust clouds to shiny scissors and wagging tails… Britt’s Spaw has a brand-new home! 💇🏻‍♀️🐶

This wasn’t just a move. This was weeks of late nights, paint in my hair (and probably still on my elbow), and a few “what was I thinking?!” moments. It was hauling, scrubbing, building, sealing, and more than a couple trips to Menards.

But here we are — in a space that feels like home not just for me, but for every single furry friend that comes through our doors. 🐾

To my amazing clients: thank you for your patience, your excitement, and your support while we made this dream a reality. Some of you have been with me since day one, and seeing your pups grow right alongside my business means the world to me. 💛

And to the ones who said, “You’re crazy to take on a project like this…”
Well… maybe. But it turns out crazy looks really good with a fresh coat of paint and a whole lot of love. 😉

And that’s exactly what we did. 🐾✨

Britt’s Spaw is officially moving into a custom home-based garage salon…soon! 🚿✂️
We’re putting on the final touches, and the state inspector is scheduled to give us the green light 💚 — once she does, we’ll open our doors to a space built with purpose, pride, and a whole lot of heart.

This journey didn’t start by choice. These past couple of months have been a whirlwind — moving into a temporary licensed location, juggling the chaos, and figuring out how to keep my dream alive. The stress was real. The setbacks were heavy. And the dream felt far away.

Then my husband said:
“Why don’t we turn the garage into your shop?” 💡
And just like that, a new path opened.

💖 To my husband — my rock and plumber-extraordinaire 🛠️🚰 — Thank you for being my safe place when everything felt uncertain. From pipe fittings to pep talks, you’ve been everything I needed and more. I don’t know where I’d be without you. 🩵

👶🏻 To my sweet baby boy — you are my greatest inspiration. Every sleepless night and long day is worth it because I know I’m building something for you. Your little eyes light up, and I remember exactly why I keep going.

🙏🏻 To my amazing clients — THANK YOU. You’ve followed me through this wild ride — from shop, to temporary location, to our new home — and your loyalty means more than you know. I couldn’t have done this without your trust and support.

👩🏻 To Ashleigh — not just a fellow full-time groomer, but someone with a heart that’s been rescuing and loving animals since day one. Your compassion hasn’t faded — it’s simply found a new way to shine. The animals feel it, and so do I. You bring warmth, soul, and purpose to this team in a way that can’t be taught.

🧼 To Carl — our bath-time MVP. Your consistency and dedication keep things running smoothly. I appreciate you more than you know.

🚨 PSA for My Dog Parents 🚨

I love your pups like my own… BUT state law says I can’t groom them unless I have proof of current rabies and distemper vaccines. No records = no groom. Period. 💅🐶

So if your pup is due or you’ve been “meaning to send them over,” this is your sign to get those vaccine records to me BEFORE your appointment.

I don’t like turning away floofs — but my clippers don’t run without compliance. 💉📋

Thanks for keeping your dogs safe, me legal, and our appointments stress-free. Let’s keep it cute AND up to code. 😉

Oliver, the little long-haired dachshund strutted in lookin’ like a fuzzy potato and walked out like royalty. 👑

Long coats are gorgeous, but they come with high-maintenance vibes — tangles, mats, and all that fluff hiding more fluff. Regular grooming keeps their flow silky, their skin healthy, and their tail wagging (without snagging). 💁‍♀️

We brushed, bathed, trimmed, fluffed, and snipped this cutie back into his full fab form — and we’re not mad about it.

Doxie parents: if your pup’s hair is starting to look like it belongs in a 90s rock band, it’s time to book that spaw day. 😉

Buttercup comes in every 4 weeks for her deshed… and somehow still manages to leave behind enough hair to make a whole new pug. 😂

At this point, I’m convinced she’s secretly growing fur in her sleep just to keep me on my toes.

She may be small, but her fluff game is strong. 💪🐶

Pug life = shedding life. Good thing we’ve got the tools (and the vacuum) to handle it.

There’s a new groomer in town—but she’s no stranger to the dog world.
We’re thrilled to officially welcome Ashleigh, formerly of Pups & Paws Pound, to Britt’s Spaw full time! 💈✂️

Ashleigh has spent years pouring her heart into rescue work, helping countless pups find their second chances. Her passion for animals runs deep—and it shows in everything she does. Whether it’s calming anxious dogs, transforming tough coats into soft perfection, or simply loving every fur baby like her own, she brings a level of care and skill that’s truly special.

We’ve seen firsthand the way pets respond to her… and we knew she belonged at Britt’s Spaw. Now she’s here full time, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her as part of the family. 🐶💕
