We are a Full Service Hunter/Jumper Facility owned by trainer Patti Wright-Shoemaker, USEF "R" Judge

Winterview Farm, located 8 miles west of the city of Madison, in the beautiful Madison County countryside is a full-service Hunter and Jumper equestrian facility. We offer boarding, training, lessons and summer horsemanship camp. Patti Wright-Shoemaker, her husband Jimmy, along with the entire staff is dedicated to providing quality care and training for our horses and students in a family oriente

d environment. We have served the greater Jackson area for 30 years and are currently boarding and training for third generation families.

It’s Northern’s turn!
Northern is a 23 year old Thoroughbred. His show name is Northern Lights🎆
Northern has been at Winterview for a long time, and he is happy to show new riders the ropes! Northern was a racehorse, and he sometimes likes to relive those days🐎💨 He is definitely more on the speedy side, but he loves a relaxed and soft rider!
Northern is an old pro, he can jump around a course and swap his leads with his eyes closed! But beware that sitting trot, he’s bouncy!🫣 Northern has multiple IEA Horse of the Day awards under his belt, and plenty of champion ribbons on the local circuit!🏆 He was just reserve champion at the MHJA Christmas Classic with Molly Bittle!
✨Fun fact, Northern HATES horse flies, probably more than any horse at Winterview! So if you see a horse fly on him, be sure to smack it!🪰

🎄MHJA CHRISTMAS CLASSIC🎄

This weekend we got back into the Christmas spirit again and had a holly jolly good time!🎅🎄
It was so much fun watching our riders step up into new divisions for the new year and see new partnerships shine! We are so proud of all of you! It’s going to be a great year!

HIGHLIGHTS:
🎄The Whole Enchilada and Cara Tsiouris WON the all day $500 Cadence Bank Hunter Classic out of 22 horses! They were also champion their first time in short stirrup!
🎄Seven Karats and Emma Papadimitriou earned reserve champion their first time in short stirrup, and were 5th in the all day classic! Emma also won a very competitive short stirrup equitation round!
🎄Scotch N Soda and Holly Ware were the big winners of the long stirrup equitation flat! Ella Wilson also piloted Sporty to champion of the Open 2’ and earned two blues in the Unrestricted 2’!
🎄Northern Lights and Molly Bittle were reserve champion in the long stirrup hunters! Molly also won the long stirrup equitation round today with a beautiful trip!
🎄Holding The Dream and Josie Grantham were champion in the long stirrup hunter division and earned great ribbons in the equitation!
🎄Tantallon Mint To Be and Molly McGuffie took on the children’s pony division and ended up with a clean sweep, earning champion! The future is bright for this new pair!
🎄Honest Abe and Adeleine Valone were superstars this weekend, winning every class entered except one (can’t win em all, right???🤪) This pair was champion of Walk Trot Canter, Canter Crossrails, Mini Stirrup, AND Pre-Short Stirrup! Holy cow!
🎄Virginia Gold and Sara Madalin Brown were reserve champion in the children’s hunters and also 4th in the competitive $500 Moody Sport Horse Equitation Challenge! This pair won the 15-17 eq over fences round! Copper was also reserve champion of the 3’ performance hunters with Meghan Humphreys aboard!
🎄Luminary and Gigi Adams picked up champion in the children’s hunters and were 2nd in the equitation challenge! Gigi won the 15-17 eq flat! Gigi also earned the highest score of Saturday, an 84!
🎄Star City put on his big boy pants and went to his very first show with owner Emily Reynolds! This 5 year old marched around the long stirrup with Emily like an old pro! Archer was also champion in the baby greens with Brittany Jones in the irons! Emily is going to be the one to beat with this great young horse!

Thanks to our wonderful staff and amazing parents that are always happy to pitch in and help out! We couldn’t do it without y’all!

Meet Karats!💎💍
Karats is a 13 year old Thoroughbred. His show name is Seven Karats!
If you want to start jumping around courses, Karats is your guy! He has the most steady canter and flat jump, making it easy for new riders to start jumping a little bigger! He also has the most awesome lead change🕺
Karats did a lot of showing with his owner, Hayden Moody, before he started teaching lessons here at Winterview. He has even shown at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, which is where this photo was taken of him and Hayden!🌟🏆
Before he was a show horse, Karats was a racehorse, but he much prefers the slow and steady lifestyle!🐎
✨Fun fact, when Karats was young, they thought he was going to make such a great racehorse because he would always be running out in front of the other horses in his pasture…. But they were wrong🤪🐢

Picking back up with Zorroco🥇🏆
Zorroco is a 21 year old Dutch Warmblood. He has been with us at Winterview for just a handful of years but it feels like he has been a member of our farm for much longer!💙
Zorroco was a fabulous hunter back in his prime, competing at big venues such as WEF, Capital Challenge, Pennsylvania National, and more! He was often the hack winner with his fancy movement!⭐️
He has enjoyed stepping down into the lesson horse life, although you can still catch him at an occasional Winterview show or IEA show! He is great at teaching beginners how to canter, and he still loves taking riders around their first jumps, but hold on tight! Sometimes he jumps like he’s still in the show ring!🤩
✨Fun fact, in 2019 Zorroco WON the Younger Children’s Undersaddle at Capital Challenge out of 38 horses😲🌟

Jackson Academy and St. Andrew’s put on two great shows this weekend!⭐️💙🐎

These riders braved the elements with rain Saturday and frigid temperatures today to earn top placings in their classes! They are not only great riders, but great friends practicing good sportsmanship. Always cheering each other on and working as together as a team. We are so proud to have them here at Winterview!

📣 MHJA Christmas Classic Postponement Announcement

Due to the recent EHV outbreak—and out of an abundance of caution to protect the health and safety of our horses—the MHJA has made the decision to postpone the Christmas Classic Horse Show to its new dates:
🎄 January 9–11, 2026

The show will still feature all the fun and festive Christmas-themed classes and activities, just a little later than planned. We’re looking forward to sharing the same amount of holiday cheer with everyone in the new year! ✨🎅🐴

This postponement also gives you a few extra weeks to gather your ads and sponsorships for the 2026 show season. MHJA still needs your support—please consider sponsoring a division or donating to the silent auction. Your generosity helps make our shows and programs possible!

And don’t forget—we’ll be celebrating the accomplishments of our riders at the End-of-the-Year Awards Banquet on January 17, 2026! 🏆🎉

WTHJA MEMPHIS CHARITY

Another fun week in Germantown! We filled up the rest of the wall with even more ribbons! Congratulations to our riders on your accomplishments and a big thank you to all of the Winterview parents and staff that make this all possible!

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
🌟MTM Heartbreak Prince and Anne Moody stayed on a winning streak, winning champion of the Children’s Hunters again this week! Jack was also champion of the USHJA 3’ and 6th in the National Hunter Derby with Kate Rushton in the irons!
🌟MTM Gift of Gab and Anne Moody also had great trips in the Children’s Hunters and were 2nd in the Classic!
🌟MTM Caithana and Anne Moody sped to reserve champion of the 1.0 JR/AM Jumper division!
🌟MTM Corbetto and Christine Moody won the 1.20 JR/AM Classic and were reserve champion in the division!
🌟MTM She’s An Icon and Hayden Moody laid down some great trips in the 1.10 JR/AM Jumper division, including a clear classic round!
🌟Kaboom Blue and Emma Britzke earned top 3 ribbons in the 3’3” Small Junior Hunter division!

A fun, 🥶FRIGID🥶, first week in Memphis!
We had a great time even with the cold weather moving in on Sunday! Can’t wait for more fun next week!

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

❄️MTM Gift of Gab and Anne Moody won the $2500 WTHJA Hunter Derby! Anne was also 12th with her other mount, MTM Heartbreak Prince. This pair also earned reserve champion of the Older Children’s Hunters. Chappy was also champion in the USHJA 3’ with Kate Rushton in the irons!
❄️MTM Heartbreak Prince didn’t let his brother earn all the blues this weekend, he was champion in the Older Children’s Hunters!
❄️MTM Caithana and Anne Moody were reserve champion in the 1.0 JR/AM Jumper division and 4th in the $1500 1.0 JR/AM Classic!
❄️MTM She’s An Icon and Hayden Moody were reserve champion in the 1.10 JR/AM Jumper division and won the $2500 1.10 JR/AM Classic!
❄️MTM Corbetto and Christine Moody zoomed around the 1.20 this weekend and won the 1.25 JR/AM Classic!
❄️Kaboom Blue and Emma Britzke won 2 of their 3’3” Small Junior Hunter classes!
❄️Luminary and Gigi Adams were 2nd in a competitive Taylor Harris Medal and 3rd in the 15-17 Eq Flat. They also had great trips in the Older Children’s Hunters!
❄️Sergeant at Arms and Emme Skinner won the $500 Low Children’s Hunter Classic and earned top 3 spots in almost all of their trips!
