“Wow! What an incredible honor to be recognized again and voted Best Veterinarian in Best of the Hudson Valley 2025! I am sincerely grateful to all of our amazing clients, friends, and family who voted. Thank you all for trusting in me and everyone at Companion Pet Hospital.

I need to give a huge shout-out to Companion's amazing practice owner, Dr. Hope Jankunas, our associate veterinarian, Dr. Maureen Lecaro, practice manager, Kathy, licensed veterinary technicians, Mellisa, Lauren, Robbyn, and Deanna, veterinary assistants, Nicole, Karsen, and Andrea, client service representatives, Chris, Dorothy, and Erin, and kennel assistant, Olivia. There is no way that I would be able to accomplish this without these phenomenal, compassionate, and dedicated folks. They inspire me daily. It is because of their support and the encouragement from my family, friends, and mentors that I am able to wholeheartedly cater to our clients and patients.

We’re excited to share that Dr. Lecaro will soon be welcoming a new addition to her family! As she prepares to take maternity leave, we wanted to keep you informed about a few temporary changes that may impact appointment availability.

During this time:
• Dr. Selzner will be providing full-time care.
• Dr. Wolff will be available most Tuesdays to support our team.

To help us continue caring for your pets as smoothly as possible, we kindly ask that you:
• Schedule vaccine appointments in advance.
• Call ahead for medication refills so we can prepare them for pickup.
• Check our Saturday hours — we’ll remain open Monday through Friday, and closed on select Saturdays.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we support Dr. Lecaro during this exciting time. Thank you for continuing to trust us with your pet’s care! 🐾♥️

While we will miss them both terribly when they are on maternity leave, we are so excited for their growing families, and can’t wait to meet their little bundles of joy. Congratulations, ladies! 🍼
