The Donkey Express was on the road to Hohenwald, TN today to pick up 3 jennys. Their distraught and upset family contacted Crossroads that the woman who owned and loved these donkeys, unexpectedly passed away. No negative comments please. We knew coming into this that the one jenny was in bad shape. But we wanted to try and give her a chance and see if we could try and help her. We welcome Pearl, her daughter, Mini, and Ruby, into our Crossroads Family. Our resident blind donkey, Indy, was pretty smitten with Pearl. Hoping they can give each other comfort. Very thankful to Joanie, who came with us today and help load and unload our new arrivals. Please send prayers and positive energy to Pearl. Hoping we can help give her relief so she can live out her life here in less pain and with her donkey family.

More perks for volunteer, Kaley She got the full spa treatment today at Crossroads Donkey Rescue. Not only did she get her facial exfoliate treatment from Buckley's tongue from his kisses, but she also received a back rub from Miracle, one of our rescue donkeys. And she got a full workout cleaning stalls. Anyone looking for a spa day? Come spend some time at Crossroads. 🤣🤣🤣

The Donkey Express was on the road today to McMinnville TN to bring rescue donkeys, Dolce and Sydney to their new home. Dolce was an older gelding that came to us in March. He is a sweet old soul, but due to his age, we thought he might become one of our sanctuary donkeys. But that was not the case. Cyndi and Dale came to visit the rescue and wanted Dolce to come live with them. Then they chose Sydney to be his companion. Sydney came to Crossroads because she lost her donkey companion to a dog attack. Her owners wanted to keep her safe and have her have other donkey companions so she joined our Crossroads Family. Now both Dolce and Sydney have a loving family with Cyndi and Dale. Brings us so much joy and makes us smile. 🥰

Here at Crossroads, we were invited to visit at our neighboring donkey sanctuary, Cash's Crew in Leoma, TN. They were having a donkey trainer, Josh LittleJohn from Georgia, along with 4 farriers trim all the donkeys at Cash's Crew. What a great experience to see even the most feral donkeys getting their hooves trimmed without out even the use of a halter. Cash's Crew has come so far since their arrival to Tennessee within the last couple of years. So happy to work with them to save donkeys in our area. God knows the donkeys need help in our neck of the woods. I am hoping we can have Josh and Crew come to our rescue, as well, the trim the hooves of our wilder asses here at Crossroads. A hoof trmming fundraiser may be coming in our future. The whole crew at Cash's Crew were absolutely amazing! ♥️♥️♥️
