Can you tell what day it is today from this photo? It is hay delivery day! And Chandler, our hay delivery guy, wished me and the rescue donkeys a Merry Christmas with no charge for today's hay delivery!! He was personally paying for the hay out of his own pocket! There are good people in this world! We are feeling very blessed! 😇 Thank you Chandler!! 🥰

Before anyone starts spewing anymore negative comments about Crossroads. I put my heart and my soul into taking donkeys into the rescue that have been neglected, abused, and discarded. I have more than a few of them here at the rescue. I welcome all visitors. Just contact me and set up an appointment. We have nothing to hide.

We have exciting news to share with everyone. Donkey Kingdom in Cumberland Furnace TN has offered to foster some of our rescue donkeys and promote our rescues and our mission to help donkeys. On Thursday, we picked up and transorted these 3 jennys whose owners were moving and needed to be picked up ASAP to their wonderful facility at Donkey Kingdom. So grateful to be working together to make people aware of the plight of these speciall creatures. Our Crossroads Family is expanding and it makes us smile! Thank you Vito!

The Donkey Express was on the road today to Shelbyville to pick up Norman. Norman was adopted about 3 years ago but his owner is now is dealing with some health issues. As she takes the time she needs to heal, Norman is going to spend some time back at the rescue. We are a family here at Crossroads. Once our animals are adopted, we are always there for the animals and their adopters. Hope and pray that Norman's stay here will be short one and he can go back to his beautiful, loving home soon. But for now, welcoming Norman back to Crossroads.

All our rescue donkeys are always excited to see our hay guy, Chandler, when he pulls in on the farm. They gather around and sing the song of their people when they see his truck and trailer. The donkeys still have not finished the bales that they are feeding on but they are always wanting a fresh bale. Our beggin' burros. Makes us smile.

We had one of those "With God, all things are possible" days today. Crossroads has been wanting to pick up a couple of donkeys that were owned by an older couple that felt they could no longer properly take care of them. Issues kept arising, but today was the day. As I pulled into their long, winding narrow driveway, I was approached by a young man to tell me that the owner had just fell and injured himself. An ambulance had to be called. But the owner was still wanting us to load up his donkeys. So, we just decided we needed to give it a try. After the ambulance left with the owner, we just kept moving forward to make this happen. Amazingly enough, with the help of those people at the house, loading up a couple of wild donkeys did happen. Step by step, it all fell into place. Welcome Petunia and Tucker to our Crossroad's family

The Donkey Express was on the road today to Holladay, TN to deliver Coco, Louise, and Elvira to their new loving home. I couldn't get many photos because it was close to dark when the donkeys were finally unloaded. It took over 2 hours to load them in the trailer. Not an easy task. Very grateful for our volunteer, Joanie, who came to help whose patience and knowledge, we got 'er done. Then a 2 and a half hour drive to their destination. Very long day, but worth all the time and effort to have Deidra and Steve add these 3 rescues to their loving family. Makes us smile! 🥰

There's a new girl in town! The Donkey Express took a short 3 mile trip to bring Sydney to the rescue. It was a tragic story. Sydney recently lost her donkey companion to a fatal dog attack. So much for the myth that donkeys make good herd protectors. The attack was so bad, that her friend that she had known for most of her life had to be humanely euthanized. By the Grace of God, Sydney was not harmed. But she has been stressed after the attack and her owners wanted her to be in a safe environment so she can make new friends. Sydney was well loved and well taken care of by her owners. We are hoping we can find her a permanent loving home with another donkey. Welcome Sydney to our Crossroads Family. 🥰

Scottie and Charlie look pretty happy together. They were previously kept separated but had adjoining stalls where they could get acquainted. Scottie was a stray jack running around farms in Fayetteville when he came to Crossroads in September. He was gelded soon after but we were not sure what his behavior would be like towards another donkey. Yesterday, was the day we decided to give it a try. Both seem happy to have each other as a friend. Makes us smile. 🥰
