Renaissance Rescue In 2007 Barb and Laurence Hutchinson had 2 horses, one of which was a thoroughbred they rescued from a slaughter sale. We currently have 2.

That summer a friend of theirs that works at Fairmount Park, Ginny Wood, called Barb about a horse that was being sold to the killers because he had slab fractured his knee during a race. Barb bought the horse, paid for the surgery, and as they say - the rest is history. There are approximately 60 horses at our facility with the majority being from Fairmount Park. Other than Old Friends Retirement in KY, we are the only other facility in the United States to take stallions. Many of our horses are available for adoption, many are here forever, and as we refer to them - yard ornaments! The ones available for adoption make great hunter/jumpers - Barb has 2 thoroughbreds she is currently working with for hunter/jumper prospects. Please feel free to drop by anytime for a visit and see what is available for adoption!

We had a group out on Friday from Hidden Acres Assisted Living. They enjoyed hanging out with the dogs, cats and horses. All of our animals loved all the treats and the love. Thank you all for spending time with us and our animals!

We had visitors from Girl Scout Troop 1536 come out today and drop off some buckets, leadropes and horse treats. The horses are excited about the treats. Thank you so much!

Thanks to “A Home for Every Horse” and their sponsors for their kindness and generosity!
Renaissance Rescue was the recipient of so many wonderful gifts, all of which we desperately needed and will put to good use.

Emma had a spa day today and had her feet done. She’s feeling pretty fancy wearing her new, donated halter.

Thank you for the donation!
