Arthur update:

He's still got a ways to go, but Arthur's mouth is feeling well enough that he was able to start eating some moistened soft food on his own again.

Arthur came to us in the past month. He was caught outside after being seen out there for a few months.

We found out that Arthur is FIV+ meaning his immune system is compromised. Arthur started developing an upper respiratory infection and also seemed to develop a really bad flare up with his FIV, and we are still potentially ruling out some other causes. We don't think Arthur has a lot of vision left either.

Arthur started bleeding from his nose and he very quickly developed ulcers all over his lips, mouth, and edges of his tongue. Unfortunately, he overall has a lot going on and hoping his current medications can get him feeling better and back to eating on his own. Can you help us fight for Arthur?

Arthur spent the night at an emergency vet and spent the day at our primary clinic. His current vet bills are already $3,500 and we are still working to get him better. The emergency clinic mentioned that after 10 hours, it wasn't wrong for us to consider euthanasia. Arthur is still fighting and we are here to fight with him.

Arthur is another one of our very urgent cases significantly draining our funds right now. Please consider skipping that next coffee or soda, if you might be able to send a few bucks our way to help toward our mounting bills. We would appreciate it more than you know.

Apologies for a few quiet days - we've had our hands full and still do, with a couple urgent cases.

Charlie had been with us since he was a younger kitten, and unfortunately hadn't had any adoption interest yet.

This past week Charlie seemed like he had the start of an upper respiratory infection, but on Thursday he became very ill with FIP, feline infectious peritinosis. We started the meds the same day and Charlie fought very hard.

Unfortunately, Charlie passed away at our vet this afternoon. We are so sad, and wish this could have been a different outcome. Rest in peace sweey boy. You mattered 💔

Meet Finn... one of our long-term pups. We know his home is more of a needle in a haystack, but that won't stop us from trying!

Finn is 7 years old and originally came to our rescue from a reservation as a tiny puppy. He was adopted and thought he had found his forever, but years later he was returned after becoming uncomfortable around men and young children. Now Finn is hoping for a fresh start with the right person.

Finn is a sweet, affectionate guy who absolutely loves attention, cuddles, and simply being near his person.

He isn’t looking for a busy household or a house full of people. His perfect home would be a calm, female-only home without young children, where he can relax, feel safe, and soak up all the love.

He does wonderfully in his crate and is house trained, although like many dogs, he may need a little refresher while settling into a new routine.

Finn may need a more specific kind of home, but we know that person is out there. Somewhere there’s a woman looking for a loyal little shadow, a cuddle buddy, and a best friend who just wants to be loved.

Finn doesn’t need everyone to choose him. He just needs one person to give him a chance. ❤️

Meet Charlie, 8 pounds of personality packed into one very adorable little package!

Charlie is around 2 years old and came to us after being left at a retail store. While his start with us may not have been ideal, this sweet little guy isn’t looking backward. He’s ready to find the forever family he deserves!

Charlie is a busy, bouncy bundle of energy who loves to run, play and make the most of his day. He does well with other dogs and especially enjoys zooming around the yard with his small canine friends. He’s also a sweet boy who enjoys people and is always happy to be part of the action.

Charlie does have a few requests for his future home. First, he has opinions, and sometimes he likes to share them! Especially if he is in a crate and other dogs walk by. Because he can be vocal in these type of situations, he’s not a great match for apartments, condos or homes with shared walls where his commentary might not be appreciated.

He also has some anxiety when crated, likely because crate training wasn’t part of his early life. Charlie would love a home where someone is around more often and can give him plenty of opportunities to get outside, play and spend time with his people. If Charlie was able to be out with his people, and not left alone and in a crate, he would likely be a pretty quiet guy overall.

If you’re looking for a tiny sidekick with lots of energy, a big personality and an even bigger heart, Charlie might just be your guy.

Charlie is neutered, microchipped, current on age-appropriate vaccinations and has been started on monthly preventatives.

Meet Ollie:

5 years old, terrier-ish, internationally traveled, and powered almost entirely by enthusiasm.

Ollie originally came from Mexico, where he was found as a stray. As for his breed? Your guess is as good as ours. Terrier? Probably. Several other breeds? Almost certainly. Tiny bit of chaos goblin? We cannot rule it out.

Ollie is a happy, higher-energy guy who loves toys, playing with other dogs, and having a fenced yard where he can run around and burn off some of his considerable horsepower.

At home, Ollie knows the routine. He’s crate trained and is used to hanging out in his kennel when his people are away. Out in public, however, Ollie experiences the world at approximately 150% volume. So many smells! So many dogs! SO MANY THINGS HAPPENING!

He’s looking for a family who will appreciate his enthusiasm while continuing to help him channel it through consistent training, structure, and exercise. He hasn’t been around cats, so his official feline approval rating is currently “results pending.”

If you’re looking for a couch ornament, Ollie may not be your guy.

But if you want a goofy, playful, energetic buddy who is ready to run, learn, play, and make your life significantly more entertaining, Ollie would like to schedule an interview.
