I'm a total bundle of joy and ready to be the perfect new addition to your family!

My life started out a bit chilly—I was one of five surviving puppies born on a cold shelter floor. But things looked up quickly when my family and I were rescued the very next day! Right now, I'm being raised by my wonderful foster mama in a safe, warm, and loving foster home.

Hi there! I'm Comet, and I’ve watched half of my siblings go to their forever homes.

At just 6 months old, I was the guardian of my siblings and now that most of them have gone to good families, I'm totally ready to take on the world. I have a massive playful spirit and an adventurous heart, so I’m always up for a good time. Whether it’s sniffing out a new trail or chasing a squeaky toy, I’m your guy.

I’m super curious and love to explore and I know I’ll be the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, energetic best friend.

They called me "unmanageable." I just call it "never being taught the rules." 🤕

My story started out like way too many others. I was adopted as a cute little puppy, but when I grew into a big boy a few months later, I was returned to the shelter. The surrender notes my first family left behind almost cost me my life. ⠀

But the team at Homebound Hounds took a chance on me. They quickly realized I wasn’t a bad dog at all. I was just a 65-pound puppy who never got the foundation, training, or consistency I needed during the months it mattered most. I had a ton of energy and absolutely no idea where to put it. ⠀

My rescue friends want to use my story to share some tough love: if you have a puppy, please invest in their training right now. It is so much easier to build good habits from day one than it is to hit the reset button on a dog my size. ⠀

Luckily, I’ve been putting in the hard work. I went to school, unlearned the chaos, and officially graduated! I'm living proof that a little structure goes a long way. ⠀

KAHOOTS 15TH ANNIVERSARY

When Lulu was surrendered to a high-kill shelter as a senior, her notes and assessments painted the picture of a wonderful dog. But once she entered a home environment, it became clear just how overwhelmed and emotionally shut down she truly was. Rescue isn’t always linear, and some dogs need more than love alone to feel safe again.

Thanks to the incredible team at Beauty and Her Beasts Training, Lulu was given the patience, structure, understanding, and commitment she needed to finally decompress and thrive. What started as a training placement slowly turned into something so much bigger — trust, healing, and ultimately, home.

Now Lulu is safe forever with the person who never gave up on her. After everything she’s been through, there’s nothing more beautiful than knowing her next chapter is permanent. 🤍
