DO YOU KNOW WHO IS HAPPIEST WITH THE LATEST CRACKDOWN ON HEMP/CANNABIS PRODUCTS IN TENNESSEE?
Take a guess.
Oh, and I mean besides the lawmakers who passed this latest legislation.
Nope … not nearby states wth legal ma*****na though I’m sure they are pleased.
The answer?
Black market dealers who illegally sell ma*****na in Tennessee.
In case you missed it, the most popular legal h**p product in Tennessee will likely be pulled from shelves if the governor signs it into law as expected.
This would take effect at the end of the year.
This after state senators voted to pass a bill placing limits on THCa.
The lawmakers considered this a loophole for pot.
THCa is the acid precursor to delta-9 THC, which is the main component in illegal ma*****na that produces a high.
When heated (by smoking, va**ng, cooking or over time) the acid converts to delta-9, meaning it can provide a similar effect to ma*****na.
So, this once legal form of h**p is going away.
If any of these lawmakers are foolish enough to think this will stop Tennesseans from using this product or ma*****na, well they’d be mistaken.
They will just buy it elsewhere — either taking their money to other states which will collect millions in taxes on the product.
Or — as several of my law enforcement friends now tell me — they will turn to neighborhood dealers.
This, of course, is nothing new.
But these dealers are about to see a huge spike in business.
This as many of the merchants who sell the product responsibly and legally take a big financial hit.
