We also want to educate pet owners on the importance of spaying and neutering. Pet Helpers, Inc. is a registered 501c3 Non-Profit pet rescue.

A dedicated group of volunteers, in the Fairmont WV area, striving to locate forever homes for rescued animals, as well as offering other assistance and support services. We are a foster-based rescue and all pets live in homes with a volunteer until their forever home is found. We do not have a facility. You can visit our pets at adoption events or by appointment. We assist with public spay/neuter through grants. Our volunteers are involved with several area schools to provide early education in the proper care of pets. Pet Helpers operates solely on adoption fees and public donations, we have no paid staff.

We are very sad to say that yesterday we had to let Olden pass over to the Rainbow Bridge. Olden was only with us a little over a year, but he won the hearts of many people. Olden accomplished many things while he was in our care. He was the star in a TikTok video with our friends at Pet Supplies Plus - Clarksburg, WV. He was featured as pet of the week on WDTV 5 News. Olden also had two photo shoots at Pawsitive Vibes with Deserae and Misty in Shinnston, WV. He got to meet lots of people who fell in love with him. How could you not fall in love his sweet little face? Olden will be missed very much. We are lucky we had the opportunity to have him in our lives. Thank you to all of you who donated to his care and sent him gifts of love. Run free little man…🌈🐾💛

From Scotty's foster parents.

It’s been 5 months since we officially started fostering Scotty, but about 6 months since someone dumped him near the gym and he hopped right into my car. He knew who the sucker was…lol 😂

First, this big boy just wants to love and be loved. He is incredibly goofy, SMART, and always wants to be where his people are. ❤️

Here’s what we’ve learned about him:

🐾 Age: Estimated 5–6
🐾 Weight: 70 lbs — down 10 healthy lbs!
🐾 Neutered & UTD on vaccines: Yes
🐾 Dog friendly: Yes, but no small dogs. He needs calm introductions. He does great with our 35 lb beagle mix!
🐾 Cat friendly: Hard pass. 😅 This is the only reason we cannot adopt him ourselves.
🐾 New people: Scotty can be unsure at first and isn’t always immediately affectionate. Give him a little time, though, and his goofy, loving personality comes out. ❤️
🐾 Crate trained: Yes! He may need patience adjusting to it in a new home. We’ve also left him and our dog out for short periods while we are away and he’s done great.
🐾 Kids: Limited experience, but he’s done well with the two children he’s met.

Scotty LOVES adventures, car rides, walks, playing outside and being wherever his people are! He went on a weekend adventure to Canaan Valley with us and had the BEST time. Was even complimented by strangers for being a good boy.

WHAT HE NEEDS: A fenced-in yard and a family who understands that he may need a little time and patience. Someone who isn’t expecting an instant connection, but is willing to let him build one.

He just needs people who will keep showing him what love is while helping him become more comfortable around new people, dogs and experiences. ❤️

Six months ago, Scotty hopped into my car without knowing where he was going. I’d really love for his next ride home to be the one that takes him to his forever family. 🐾❤️

These beautiful babies are still looking for their forever homes!!

Grayson is the sweetest little guy and likes his pets and playing with toys his favorites are wand toys and his big stuffed fish.

Grayleigh is more guarded and skittish but loves to check in for pets on her own time.

Grady is very outgoing and loves to play with his peeps.

All of the kittens in the litter are about 6.5 months old, very mild natured and love to play with wand toys and stay active. In their foster home they enjoy climbing their way around the cat tree and finding the best window views.

They are great with kids and dogs as we have both in the foster home. All have been vetted and tested for FIV, FELV, vaccinated, microchipped, and have been Spay or Neutered. The ideal home would be one with lots of love, cuddles and toys of course.

Meet Miss Lola

Lola is approximately 1 year old and weighs around 90 pounds!”

We were told she's a Lab mix, but we suspect some Great Dane, too!

Lola is a total love bug and couch potato, but when it's playtime, she's ALL IN! She's still a big puppy who doesn't realize her size, so she will need an active home without small children and a securely fenced yard. She's strong on leash, so continued training will be needed. She knows sit and shake and loves to learn!

She gets along with other dogs, but larger dogs are preferred because of her size, she has been cat tested and did great with dog friendly cats!
Lola is crate trained and housebroken. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed.

Sadly, Lola was abandoned when her family moved away. She was covered in fleas and had significant hair loss, but her beautiful coat has grown back!
