Mako (A139872) is a 1-year-2-month-old Lab mix who weighed 47.1 pounds on intake!

06/06/26 Mister Mako is back at the shelter because he is a very hyper dog, and his previous owners were about to have a new baby and did not feel they had the time to devote to his training. Mako is a very energetic young dog who LOVES to play! He will even play fetch with himself or chase his own tail if there are no toys nearby! Mako was said to love going on walks, and he knows some basic commands, such as sit, lay down, paw, go potty, and stay (as long as he knows you're watching). Mako does like chewing on things, so making sure he has plenty of appropriate chew toys will be important so his mouth doesn't wander to things that should not be chewed. Mako was said to do well with other dogs, as well as kids. Please make sure any and all introductions are done in a slow and controlled manner to allow for the best possible outcome. He was also said to be housebroken. He has been known to dig and chew, but he was said to be very respectful of the 4ft fence in the backyard, where he spent most of his unsupervised time. Mako will also jump on people and coutners, but he was asid to generally mind well and to do well in the car. If you are interested in meeting Mako, please give us a call!

09/30/25 This cute boy is Mako! Mako was surrendered to the shelter because he was too big for his last owner and still growing! With that being said, he was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate who does great with all! Mako was said to especially love children! In his last home, he also did well with dogs, cats, and even his granddaughter’s horse! Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new animals to help set Mako up for success! He is still a puppy and has that puppy energy, which is not always appreciated by all. Also, in puppy fashion this boy was said to be a super chewer providing him plenty of appropriate chew toys is important! His prior owner also noted that he is a pro “earthmover”. Mako was born to dig! Keep this in mind when Mako is outdoors. Mako was said to be kennel trained, rides well in a car, and is mostly housebroken (he does still ti**le when he is excited). Mako is a very sweet boy looking for a home that can continue to work with him. If you are interested in meeting Mako, please let us know!

Bella (A142426) is a 4-year-old kitty who weighed nearly 7 lbs at intake!

06/05/26 This sweet, quiet-natured girl is Bella! Bella was brought to the shelter due to her previous family moving out of state and not being able to bring her along. Miss Bella is a very quiet girl. Her meow is almost inaudible. She is looking for a quiet home that she can easily feel comfortable in. She does not like loud noises, especially vacuums. She does, however, love grooming! Bella was said to do well in a warm bath with pet shampoo, and she loves to be brushed! She was also said to be a very affectionate kitty who loves being held and cuddled. She hates collars, however. She has only ever been an inside cat, and should continue to be an inside cat, especially considering her quiet nature and dislike of collars. If you are interested in meeting this sweet, softspoken kitty, please give us a call!

Cheeni (A142324) is a 9-month-old Lab mix who weighed 43.3 pounds on intake!

06/02/26 This little lady is Cheeni! Cheeni arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for her new place to call home! Since she was a stray, we do not know if she has experience with children or other animals. It is important that you are making appropriate introductions to help set her up for success. We have found that at times, Cheeni will try to zip out of her kennel, so she may be a door bolter. Please keep this in mind as she settles into her new home and routine. Cheeni has had some gi distress since arriving at the shelter and was started on an appropriate treatment plan. She is being treated for Giardia which is zoonotic so it is important to be picking up her f***s and washing your hands. She has been cleared for adoption and is starting to feel much better! As she had an upset stomach, it is hard to tell if she is housebroken and may need some continued work in her new home. We also encourage her next owner to bring her to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners and learn a trick or two! If you are interested in meeting this sweet girl and helping her grow into the best girl that she can be, please let us know!

ADOPTED-Martha Stewart (A142372) is a 1-year-old DSH who weighed 7.75 pounds on intake!

06/01/26 This pretty lady is Martha Stewart! She was surrendered with her brother Chunky Monkey and both are now looking for their new homes! They were stated to get along, but are not necessarily bonded. Both were stated to fear dogs and would appreciate a dog-free home environment. They were stated to do well with babies and children, but can be shy when meeting new people. When they are comfortable with you, they were stated to be very affectionate kitties and we have really seen this side of Chunky Monkey! Both were stated to be litterbox-trained and have used it well while at the shelter. Martha Stewart does have extra toes on her front paws and it is important that her new owner keeps her nails trimmed so they do not grow into her paw pad. These kitties may enjoy having a cat tree in their next home as they were known to like jumping on counters and hanging out on high surfaces. If you are interested in meeting Martha Stewart, please let us know!

ADOPTED-Palila (A142390) is an 8-week-old AK Husky who weighed 7.75 pounds on intake!

06/02/26 These little ladies were surrendered to the shelter and are eagerly awaiting their next home and adventure! In typical puppy fashion they will need help with potty training, kennel training, basic commands, and continued positive socialization! They are an active breed, so they are looking for a home that will be able to provide them with plenty of daily activity – both mentally and physically as they age. If you are up for the challenge, they are worth the reward! If you are interested in meeting any of these cute girls, please let us know!
