My (and my wallet's) favorite time of year!

When I take my home-herd on walks on my property and show them that they can in fact eat other food than just the $27/square bale of hay I am forced to buy in the winter when my stash of summer-bought hay runs out.

A check-in with 🐷Hillshire and his fancy braided tail!

🐷Hillshire is a Kune Kune, where as 🐷Jimmy Dean is a Pot-Belly. 🐷Hillshire has a little longer body than 🐷Jimmy Dean, so he can't run up the steps like 🐷Jimmy can.

We now know we should have gotten a Kune Kune right off the bat-What a great personality!

A little side note- as we were leaving my 🏡house to head to a 🎈party, 🐷Hillshire blocked our way from leaving through the gate, and wouldn't move until another 👨 human came and gave him his demanded attention. I wish I could have tossed him into my🚗 car and taken him with!

We returned to 🇺🇸Ft. Wainwright for yesterday's 🧑3 year old 🎂Birthday party!

Fun fact: Did you know I lived on🇺🇸 Ft. Wainwright, off of Dogwood St, for 1 year when we moved to Alaska in 2019?

Talk about bringing back a flood of memories! My old 🏡house was basically right across the street from this 🎈party. All the neighborhood 👩🧑kids coming to celebrate this sweet 🧑boy, asking the👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 parents if they could play with their outdoor 🚲 toys...oh my heart.

The kids were given the task of picking 🌼dandelions for me before entry.

We were expecting🌧 rain halfway through, so we didn't bring 🐢Svetlana..but we did bring 🦔 Chowder!!!

This party ranked up there as one of my 💕favorites.
"10 outta 10, would party with them again!"

Thank you for letting us celebrate your 7th 🎂 Birthday with you!!!! Great turnout with alot of little kids!

The 🌞sun came out and so did 🐢Svetlana! This was her first 🎈party of the year. Some of the 🙎‍♂️👧kids will walk away from this party remembering the difference between a 🐢turtle and a 🐢tortoise for the rest of their lives. Great 🏡location for the petting zoo set up, with plenty of other activities for the kids to do.

Other than parents taking 📸pictures, I don't believe I saw anyone on their phones. All 🏃‍♀️kids were RUNNING and playing and being out in the🌳 fresh air. I loved it!
