Missing you today, Paul! Thank you for teaching, guiding me, allowing us to carry on your legacy! You guide me, support me every day and I am grateful!
I miss you and love you very much ❤️

The greatest way to honor my husband, Paul Wekstein and the legacy that he leaves behind, is to carry on! Paul passed his knowledge and experience to us; he mentored each of us individually and collectively.
Our teams are knowledgeable, well equipped and prepared to continue serving humans and canines alike for many years to come!
We are looking forward to continuing what we have done very well for nearly 30 years!
Additionally, we are looking forward to announcing new training opportunities in Colorado and in Florida as we continue to grow, learn and serve.
As Paul would say, “the best way to predict your future, is to create it” and so that is what we will do.
Thank you all for your kind words, memories shared and allowing all of us the opportunity to understand just how impactful he was.
Being in service to humans and canines alike is the greatest, most rewarding feeling that I have ever come to understand – thank you Paul for openly sharing that with all of us.

Hello everybody! We are now doing business as Mountain Canine Academy LLC we have made a few changes but remain dedicated to helping human and canine alike. We are so grateful for all of our clients, past and present, and will continue to provide training for all dogs regardless of age, breed and temperament. Free evaluations and multi-dog discounts are still available and we service all of Denver/metro as well as Evergreen and the surrounding mountain communities. Say hi to two of our newest students, Odin and Brida. They are part of our Good Start Puppy Program and will continue on into our full obedience program in a few weeks. We are focusing on socializing them while teaching good manners and basic skills in a fun and engaging way. Here they are in the store building confidence and trust in their pawrents. Stay tuned for more updates on these adorable pups!

We had a double graduation yesterday! Bella and Gus have completed our on-leash obedience course and we are so proud of the hard work they all put in. Way to go guys!!!

Another trust exercise that Calla and James practiced and mastered within a couple minutes. New doesn’t have to be scary. Your dog needs to trust you to be able to do new/unusual things, and these two have done an amazing job building trust.

Building trust is critical for achieving success with our dogs. (And puppies) Look how relaxed Calla is as she takes a wobbly ride through the store. She has no hesitation when asked to try something new because she knows her Dad won’t put her in a situation that’s not safe. She looks to him for guidance and direction when experiencing something unusual. They are becoming quite the team! Great work you two!!

Here is Alla and Looch (left) and Paul with Zarah (right) walking calmly past the neighbor dogs. Before now both dogs would lunge towards any other dogs they saw out on their walks. With some guidance and encouragement they can now enjoy their walks together as a family! Wonderful job you guys!!

Working on reactivity can be difficult but this group was up for the challenge! Alla and Paul have a couple big dogs (Zarah and Looch) who struggle when they encounter other dogs on their walks. We started working with them yesterday and, with some help from the neighbors, we made some really good progress! By the end of the lesson both dogs were walking calmly past other dogs and showing greatly improved impulse control!

We had a 🎓double 🎓graduation!!! Billie and Miles have completed our on-leash obedience program and we helped with some behavioral issues the family was dealing with. They have done an amazing job and their Pawrents now have the tools to lead them through any situation that comes their way. Pictured here is Doug with the graduates, and Annie, their trainer.
