Mel’s Lawn & Garden, a family owned business since 1980. Mel and Lillan Taylor, chicken farmers from Shaffer, MI, opened Mel’s Lawn & Garden when their chicken coop burned to the ground. Mel’s was located at 520 Stephenson Ave. before moving to its current location at 1620 6th Ave. N. With the help of their 4 children, Mel and Lillan put in many long hours establishing the business. In 1993 their son Glen Taylor purchased Mel’s. Glen, his wife Carolyn and their 3 children (pictured above are daughter Lindsey and son Sam, missing from the picture is daughter Grace) are following in his parents footsteps.

Hard work and dedication to the business have helped Mel’s grow. Mel’s prides itself on customer service and product knowledge, something you won’t find at the big box store! Shop Mel’s today!
