Sadly...the second half of 2026 is coming in just as intense as the first... Yesterday we responded to a call from PA State Police to assist with a desperate situation involving a large number of dogs that needed to be removed from a home immediately as some were actively dying. Under the direction of our founder/director, Ruth, members Officer Henning, Officer Jacobson and Riley loaded up the truck and headed to meet the Troopers. After 7 long hours...64 dogs/puppies and 2 cats joined the latest Needy and Neglected Animals in our care. Upon arrival, members, Ruth, Anna, Chris, Gretchen, Brittney, Becky, Matt, Montanna, Alicia, and Lexi worked until 1AM getting the dogs and cats triaged. By the time we left, all of the animals had been stared on a refeeding plan, watered, vaccinated, given appropriate parasite control and clean beds to finally rest in comfort. Today our amazing Dr. Zeigler and her techs, Kelly, Iryna and Yeva came in and spent the day doing their initial medical exams and starting them on treatment plans. And tonight our wonderful groomers, Tammy and Brooke, will begin the task of baths and grooming for this crew. It certainly takes ALL OF US - A TRUE TEAM working together to make these large scale rescues successful. That team isn't just us. It's the Troopers at PSP AND YOU our ! The cats are two females who are super sweet and should be available for adoption soon. The dogs range in age from 3 weeks to 8(ish) years. They are a mix of lab/collie type dogs. Most are shy but friendly and a few are very fearful right now but with time will warm up just fine. We will be spending the next week or so processing them and preparing them for adoption most likely in phases so watch for them to be available as soon as possible! For now send your love, prayers, healing vibes and best wishes to these guys! They feel it and we do too! If you can help - we need Purina Dog and Puppy Chow, canned dog food, 39 gallon/contractor size trash bags, gift cards to Walmart/Amazon/Tractor Supply/Sam's etc. We will post an update soon!
