Please share or consider adopting one of these precious old babies. They are all incredibly sweet and deserve a soft landing for whatever days they have left!!

🐾Five senior dogs from the same home are among the recent arrivals at Wiregrass Pets Rescue and Adoption in Dothan. Their story puts a spotlight on older pets and something families may overlook: who will care for their animals if they no longer can?

See what Wiregrass Pets is sharing about its senior dogs and why an older pet may be worth a second look.

Please help us find Ducchess her forever family! She has had zero interest, and we just cannot understand why! Please consider sharing this sweet girls post to help us find her a permanent home!

She is great in her foster home & lost her owner a couple months ago. She is such a loveable girl and would mold into a lot of different type of homes!

We have been asked to take this sweet 13 year old female Schnauzer. Her family is going thru a divorce and sadly mom cannot take her with her.

She is doing fine in a home with another big dog and is housetrained. We are unsure of cats or kids.

We are unable to pull her without a foster. If you are interested in fostering, please send us a message!

UPDATE: Stella is SAFE with rescue - thank you all for speaking up for her!

🆘🚨‼️ EMERGENCY!!! ‼️🚨🆘

Stella needs pulled from a high kill shelter IMMEDIATELY! A result of a nasty divorce she’s basically first on the list to be euthanized ASAP!

Stella is around 8 years old and said to be good with dogs and cats!

We DESPERATELY need someone to step up to foster Stella!!! She doesn’t deserve to die.

Please send us a PM if you can help! She’s currently in Elmore Co but we can get her to where she needs to be.

👑 Meet Duchess – Your Royal Lap Companion 👑

Duchess is a 12-year-old long-haired Chihuahua with the heart of a queen and the soul of a snuggle bug. Don’t let her tiny size fool you — this little lady brings BIG love wherever she goes.

She is incredibly mild-mannered, gentle, and happiest when she’s curled up beside you… or better yet, tucked right into your lap. If you’ve been looking for a soft, warm shadow to follow you from room to room and keep you company during movie nights, Duchess is your girl.

✨ Duchess’ Highlights:
• 12 years young
• Spayed
• Up to date on all vaccines
• Heartworm negative
• Wonderful with kids
• Great with dogs of all sizes
• Likely fine with cats
• Low-key and perfect for a calmer home

Duchess does have some significant dental disease, but aside from that, she has no known health concerns. She’s simply a sweet senior lady ready to spend her golden years being adored like she deserves.

She would thrive in almost any loving home — especially one that isn’t overly active and values cozy evenings, gentle walks, and lots of cuddles.

📍 Located in Birmingham, AL
💛 Adoption fee: $125 to approved adopters

If you’re ready to give this tiny queen her happily-ever-after, Duchess is ready to give you her whole heart in return.

Message us to apply — her throne (aka your lap) is waiting. 🐾💛

ADOPTED!!! HORRAY!

We have a SWEET chocolate lab man that needs pulled from the shelter.

His name is Bobble and we think he is between 10 and 12 years old. His favorite activity is to lay on the couch or his dog bed and snooze. He is indifferent about other dogs, but doesnt love young rambunctious up in his face.

He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. Bobble doesnt deserve to spend another day in the shelter!

He is available to foster, foster to adopt or adoption! Reach out to us today if you are able to help sweet Bobble.
