Red satin broodstock

Junior red buck - partial pedigree. Best fur on a red in my barn but he does have a white vs creme belly. Would probably be great for a copper program.

2 senior red brood does, approx. 1.5 years old. Both excellent mothers. Purebred but breeder never sent pedigrees. Kingsbury/Weber lines.

Decent day at the WI satin specialty show.

Donovan had BOV black, copper, and himi.
I had a BOV blue and a handful of 1sts.

Donovan also scored champion intermediate showmanship, which was great considering he didn’t want to do it!

Despite a long day, we had a wonderful day at the Marshfield show today. We missed a lot of our satin friends who were in IA today.

Both judges remarked the Cal doe was worthy of Best In Show but she was very stained(apparently I need to move her to a brighter corner of the barn - couldn’t see the p*e 🤦‍♀️)

Updated on the little broken with cute markings I shared a few months ago. She’s got some goofy looking markings but the rest of her is looking pretty good!

Can’t wait to get Rusty B’s Patchwork on the show table in the near future.

Satins 👀 for new 🏠

Intermediate broken blue buck - full brother has a RIS and full sister was 2nd in her class at convention. Not in coat currently. Has a few legs. Out of broken black & blue. PENDING

Senior white buck - used for my coppers and otters and had some nice babies out of him. Time to move along. Out of otter.

As we start unpacking and looking at our breeding plans for spring nationals, we will have some rabbits looking for new barns.

Right now I do have a few junior Thrianta does, possibly a buck as well.

Also have:
- White satin senior buck. Doyle/Moessner lines. Out of otter and have used him to help with our otters and coppers but he’s done his job too well and we need to diversify the bloodlines here
- Intermediate broken blue satin buck. Has a few legs. Nice type, not in coat currently.
- Junior red satin buck
- Junior Californian bucks and does out of Donovan’s grand champion market rabbit
- Junior Himi satin buck - 5th place @ convention

Just occurred to me I got almost no actual pictures of convention but our first one ever was fantastic! Despite the chaos of check in and out, the whole ordeal was exciting. And we did pretty darn well. With nearly 30,000 rabbit entries, I feel very grateful for our placings and the experience.

Such a busy day of driving and getting rabbits set up I managed only one photo. But everyone has made it to convention!

I’ve been back and forth on this guy but ultimately it’s time for him to move along.

Young senior broken satin buck with a stunning coat. Lots of judges compliments on coat structure. Even out of his prime coat at the moment, he’s got killer texture. It’s the reason he’s stuck around here so long.

The catch: he’s not senior weight and will probably never be. But he’s too nice for the freezer. Rest of his litter has flourished. SOOOO….if anyone wants a brood buck to help their satin coats, this is your boy. He is proven and has a few legs. Will need to be crossed with bigger does. If you have petite does or lines, this is not your guy. Again to reiterate - he is not senior weight and is to be considered brood quality.

Very reasonable 💰for a home needing his help. Even more reasonable for youth who understand this is a brood animal that needs a large mate for a pairing.
