We are located in Ellicott City, Maryland Small Miracles Cat & Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) animal welfare nonprofit focused on finding adoptive homes for stray, surrendered, abandoned and/or homeless cats and dogs in Howard County, Mary

land, and beyond. Small Miracles has helped find adoptive homes for thousands of cats, kittens, dogs and puppies since 2006. We have a robust network of volunteers and foster homes who provide needy animals with shelter, socialization, training and necessary veterinary care in preparation for adoption. Adoption fees:
Cats - $100
Kittens - $155
Dogs - $350
Microchips for adopted animals available for $30 with lifetime registration. Cardboard carriers are available for $5. Adoptable animals have received a vet exam, vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, flea and tick treatment, de-wormer and stool check. Cats are tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. Dogs are tested for heartworm.

Do any of your New's resolutions involve more walks, a consistent routine, reduced stress, and daily moments of joy? We have puppies, dogs & cats to help - come meet them this weekend! Our next adoption hours are Saturday 11-4 and Sunday 12-3.

Puppies Cookie Dough, Quake, Chocolate Chip & Solstice are coming in BOTH days, plus Storm (Saturday) and Claus (Sunday). We'll have some new arrivals of older puppies and young adult dogs at the shelter, too.

Our first Fido Field Trips of 2026 are the next TWO Sundays: January 11 & 18. We have lots of new dogs coming this week so there will be plenty of opportunities to take a dog out.

We had a successful year with our newly created program. Over 200+ dogs went out on field trips, which gave the dogs and staff a much-needed break! We've also had numerous families fall in love with their pups and adopt them, so we can fur sure call this a shelter win in 2025.

Our next adoption hours are Friday 11am-3pm, and puppy Celeste is coming in to meet you for at least the first couple hours. (Claus, Zuko and Candle are also available, but won't be coming in Friday.) And check out the really wonderful dogs that we have available too - it's a great mix of sizes and temperaments. We'd love to help you find your perfect match!
