Ever wondered how the horse’s skeleton really works?

Join us for the Equine Skeleton Experience — a rare, hands-on opportunity to explore equine bone structure, development, and pathology in a way you simply can’t learn from books or screens.
You’ll examine real equine skeletons ranging from 8-months-old to 28-years-old, see how equine teeth develop, and learn how bone adapts, heals, and sometimes fails. From healed fractures and arthritis to common and uncommon genetic defects, this experience brings anatomy to life — literally.

Whether you’re a professional, owner, pony clubber or just a deeply curious horse person, this workshop will change how you see the horse!

PM Session (1:00pm-5:00pm)
Sessions are identical in content. Capacity is limited to 50 participants per session.

JOB OPPORTUNITY : Equine Bodyworker in Maryland

Hands on Horses is looking for a skilled Equine Bodyworker to join the team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate has formal training in equine massage and/or related modalities (strong preference to bodyworkers certified through Equinology/EquiLearn), solid horsemanship skills, and a passion for helping horses feel and perform their best.

This role involves traveling to barns within Maryland, working with a variety of horses (from FEI-level athletes to retired pleasure horses), and collaborating with other members of each horse’s wellness team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide safe, effective, and professional equine bodywork sessions.
• Assess musculoskeletal conditions and keep clear, accurate session notes.
• Develop individualized bodywork plans to support comfort, recovery, and performance.
• Communicate effectively with horse owners, trainers, and veterinary professionals.
• Educate clients about the benefits of bodywork and provide appropriate aftercare recommendations.
• Represent Hands on Horses with professionalism, care, and integrity.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Certification or formal training in Equine Bodywork, Animal Massage Therapy, or a related modality (Equinology®, EquiLearn®, or equivalent strongly preferred). Additional training available for the right candidate.
• Demonstrated experience handling and working safely with a variety of horses.
• Solid knowledge of equine anatomy, biomechanics, and behavior.
• Excellent communication, reliability, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional liability insurance required.
• Physical ability to perform bodywork in barn environments.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION:
• Flexible, part-time schedule.
• Compensation: per-session rate, based on experience.

• Tuition assistance available to support continuing equine education.
