Colonial Canine LLC Welcome to Colonial Canine! We don’t just watch dogs. We help make them better. 🐶💅 Colonial Canine started in Chesapeake, VA in 2017.

We’re proud to offer structured doggie daycare, comfortable boarding, and results-driven behavioral training designed to help dogs thrive. As we began to grow and expand, we noticed a demand for better care for dogs who may be a little harder to handle or may need a different approach. We began taking dogs who were unable to go to more traditional boarding facilities. In 2021 Colonial Canine moved

to a larger facility in Elizabeth City, N.C. and we are grateful to have been welcomed with open arms. Cassie has been working with dogs for over 12 years, beginning with rescue and working with a professional trainer in Alaska. Amanda has worked with dogs for 20 years including working with breeders, working dogs, rescues and trainers. We are a very dedicated team who want to help dogs and their owners learn to work together to become successful.

🐾 A big Colonial Canine welcome to Biscuit & Huck! 🐾

These two are spending their very first boarding weekend with us, and they’re already making themselves right at home! 💙 While new places can be a little overwhelming, Biscuit and Huck have been warming up to our staff so quickly and are showing off their sweet personalities.

We’re looking forward to a weekend full of playtime, snuggles, and making sure these first-time boarders have the best stay possible. Be sure to give them a warm welcome in the comments! 🦴🐶💕

Friday photo dump! 📸🐾

The crew spent the day doing what they do best—running, wrestling, chasing, and making sure absolutely nobody had a clean face by the end of playtime. Morning zoomies rolled right into afternoon shenanigans, and somehow everyone still had energy left to burn.

We even had a surprise visitor this afternoon! A dragonfly stopped by for a few minutes and apparently decided to supervise the yard. We’re pretty sure it was taking notes… probably something about Dante not following OSHA regulations for personal space. 😂🐉✨

Happy Friday from the Colonial Canine crew! We hope your weekend is half as fun (and slightly less chaotic) as ours. 🐶💙

While this is not a new policy, we have grown tremendously over the past year, and we felt it was a great time for a friendly reminder. Every boarding and daycare facility operates a little differently, and our top priority is protecting the health and safety of every dog in our care.

This policy helps us maintain a safe, healthy environment for all of our guests and gives pet parents peace of mind when their dogs stay with us. For your convenience, this policy is also posted on our website and displayed in our lobby.

☀️ Thursday morning playtime is in the books, and the pups wasted absolutely no time getting the zoomies started!

A big Colonial Canine welcome to two new faces, Jack (whose official first day was actually Tuesday—we’re just a little late to the party 😅) and Brewer! Both boys fit right in with the crew and made plenty of new friends this morning.

The zoomies have been had, burnouts were done and we’ve already burned off a little energy… but not nearly enough! 🐾

Now it’s time to head back outside for even more afternoon fun. Stay tuned for more happy faces and wagging tails! ❤️🐕

We had a full house for daycare today, and the play yards were packed with wagging tails and happy zoomies!

A big Colonial Canine welcome to Tip and Gracie for their very first day of daycare! These two jumped in paws first and made themselves right at home. Safe to say they had an absolute blast making new friends and exploring all the fun. 💛

We’d also like to welcome Luna and Freya, who are staying with us for their very first boarding visit. These sweet girls came in as a couple of nervous Nellies, but our team is taking things at their pace with lots of patience, love, and positive encouragement. Watching them start to relax and realize they’re safe is one of our favorite parts of what we do. 🥹❤️

The dogs were loving the cooler weather today! ☀️🐾

With the beautiful temperatures, we spent plenty of time outside enjoying playtime, exploring the yard, and soaking up the sunshine. There were lots of wagging tails, zoomies, and happy faces all around!

Days like this are perfect for letting our pups burn off some energy and enjoy time with their friends. We hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful weather as much as our Colonial Canine pack did today! ❤️🐶
