Don’t forget that when you’re walking your dog this summer, they don’t have the same protection on their feet that you do. 🐾
Check the temperature before you head outside. If it’s too hot, keep walks short and stick to grassy areas, avoiding pavement and asphalt when possible. Do your best to take long walks during the cooler parts of the day such as early morning or evening. 🌙
And remember, protect those paws! Winter weather staples like Mushers Secret or Bag Balm are a good way to help moisturize, heal, and protect paw pads in the summer, too.

Here are the common signs of heat stroke in dogs and how to prevent it. ☀️🐕
Heat stroke, or hyperthermia, happens when your dog’s internal temperature rises above their normal 103°. A temperature of 106° results in heat stroke and anything over 107° can mean organ failure and even death.

We have been a DogWatch® dealer since 1992. We proudly service Madison, St. Clair, Monroe, Clinton and Jersey counties and the surrounding area. We have lived in the Metro-East area since 1987 and can't imagine living anywhere else. Our family consists of three children, ages 18, 15, and 9 and we love spending time with our Labradoodle, Rudy. Our DogWatch team consists of Alan, Rhonda, Amy, Robby and T.J.
We love working with animals and giving families the comfort of knowing that their pets are safe.
