Every one meet Finley! Finley is a high drive. High energy purebred AKC registerable German Shepherd puppy that was donated to our program! He comes from health-tested parents.
Finley was raised with variant of ENS, Finley was safely exposed to pungent and novel scents before 2 wks old (peppermint, clove, rubbing alcohol, citrus), safely exposed to variations in temperature (holding puppy safely, setting their feet on a cool towel, a cold towel, a warm towel, and a room temp one, started at 1wk, stopped at 2.5wks), exposed to loud and novel sounds like sirens, loud voices, clanging metal bowls, fireworks, etc regularly. Exposure to car travel, everyone gets crated and taken on a drive to main street and back once a week. Reinforced desire to stay "clean" (rewarding for p**ping in the p**p corner, pretty much automatic at this point thankfully), individual attention given multiple times a day, reinforcing patience without killing drive (rewarding puppies who sit and wait patiently rather than screaming or acting out for attention), exposure to obstacles and novel "toys" ( theyve had The Can Thing, a pvc standing rack with soda cans and plastic bottles dangling off by paracord, makes a ton of sounds, home made bite rags (microfiber rags on ropes, they love that), early and continued exposure to different floor textures (tile, glass, linoleum, hardwood, carpet), early and continued exposure to crowd sounds. I also take pups on contained and safe "outings" after shots-- pet friendly places, contained with no outside interaction.
We believe Finley would do best with a handler who was looking for a multi-purpose service/sport dog. Someone who has experience with high drive high energy breeds. We believe he has the potential for medical alert, mobility work including guide, psychiatric work, dock diving, bite sports, barn hunt S&R And so much more. Finley is a very versatile dog that adapts well to any environment, is people kid and small animal friendly. Has a wonderful settle even in overstimulating environments. No adverse reaction to loud noises like pots and pans, fireworks, gunshots, thunder and lightning, Or sirens of any kind. He handles grooming and handling very well, has no adverse reaction to the Dremel or blow dryer, stands for a bath, and allows us to clean his ears and brush his teeth with ease.
He will be available starting late 2026 early 2027, if anyone has any questions, comments, concerns, please leave a comment or PM us personally
