If your pet needs medication refills, food pickups, or any last-minute care before the holiday weekend, please give us a call or stop in before Monday.

For pet emergencies while we are closed, please contact your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.

Each piece of our team is integral to the success of Michiana Veterinary Hospital, but this week we are recognizing the ladies who are often your very first and last point of contact with us.

They are the voices on the phone when you’re worried, the faces that welcome you through our doors, and the steady presence beside you through both joyful visits and the hardest goodbyes. They celebrate new puppies and kittens with you, and they also sit with you in moments of grief, offering quiet compassion when words are hard to find.

Veterinary receptionists do so much more than answer phones and schedule appointments—they help create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and cared for no matter the circumstance.

We are incredibly grateful for the empathy, strength, and heart they bring to MVH every single day. We always appreciate them but help us show them how much we appreciate this week! 💙💜

❤️ 🐶🐱❤️ April is National Heartworm Awareness Month. ❤️ 🐶🐱❤️ Did you know AVMA provides resources to help you inform and educate clients on pet health topics? Plus, many materials are available in both English and Spanish.

One of these resources is our Heartworm Disease brochure, available in both English and Spanish. Heartworm disease is a serious, potentially fatal condition that affects dogs, cats, and ferrets. Treatment for affected dogs is intensive, and no treatment exists for cats or ferrets—making prevention critical. Send clients home with this brochure to help them understand the seriousness of heartworm disease and to support your recommendations for prevention.
