We know how deeply our pets are loved—and how hard it is to say goodbye. 🤍

To help honor those special bonds, we’re creating a Memorial Page where families can share photos, stories, and memories of their beloved pets.

This space is here for you—to remember, reflect, and celebrate the lives that meant so much. Many families find that sharing their pet’s story can be a small but meaningful step in the healing process. It can also offer comfort to others who may be preparing for a similar goodbye.

If you feel called to share, we would be honored to include your pet’s memorial.

You can submit photos and a short tribute by:

Every pet leaves paw prints on our hearts. Their life mattered, and their story deserves to be remembered. 🩶

In honor of pets like our Drogon—loved deeply and never forgotten. 🐾

🐾 Understanding Your Pet’s Pain: The Grimace Scale 🐾

Our pets can’t tell us when something hurts—but their faces often do.

The Feline Grimace Scale (and similar tools in dogs) is a simple, research-backed way veterinarians assess pain by looking at subtle facial changes like:
• Ear position
• Eye squinting
• Tension around the muzzle
• Whisker position
• Head posture

Even subtle changes can signal discomfort. This allows pain to be recognized earlier and managed more effectively—especially in cats, who often hide signs of illness.

At Peaceful Journey At Home, we use tools like the grimace scale to help guide comfort-focused, end-of-life care and ensure pets remain as peaceful as possible.

If you’re noticing changes in your pet’s expression or comfort level and have concerns, we recommend following up with your primary care veterinarian for evaluation and treatment guidance. We are dedicated to hospice and end-of-life services and are always here to support comfort and quality-of-life decisions. 💙

One of the hardest decisions any pet parent will ever face is knowing when—and how—to say goodbye.

With Peaceful Journey At Home, your pet can spend their final moments at home, surrounded by the people who love them most, in a place where they feel safe and at ease.

Because saying goodbye in your pet’s favorite spot—on the couch, in your arms, or under their favorite tree—is one of the most peaceful and loving gifts you can give.

To help you feel more prepared and at peace with the process, we’ve created a short video walking you through what to expect during an in-home euthanasia with us—so there are no surprises, only comfort and understanding.

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline—and it doesn’t look the same for everyone.

When it comes to losing a beloved pet, there is no “right” or “wrong” way to feel. Some days you may want to talk about them constantly, other days you may need quiet. You might feel at peace one moment and overwhelmed the next. All of it is valid.

Grief is deeply personal. It can be messy, unpredictable, and different for every individual—and that’s okay.

Give yourself permission to move through it in your own way, at your own pace. 🤍🐾

“Is it too soon?”
A question no pet parent ever feels ready to ask—but so many of us quietly do. This is what we want you to know.
