🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Peaceful Journey at Home! ❤️🤍💙

We hope you and your family have a fun and safe holiday celebrating with those you love. While the festivities are exciting for us, they can be overwhelming and frightening for our furry family members. Here are a few simple ways to help keep them safe today:

🐾 Keep pets indoors in a quiet, secure room before fireworks begin.
🐾 Make sure collars, ID tags, and microchip information are up to date.
🐾 Close windows, curtains, and blinds to help reduce noise and flashes.
🐾 Play calming music or white noise, and consider anxiety medications if recommended by your veterinarian.
🐾 Never bring pets to fireworks displays.

A little preparation can go a long way in helping your pets feel safe and comfortable during tonight’s celebrations.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

With the heat wave this week, we wanted to share a few reminders to help keep our furry family members safe.

Heat stroke is a medical emergency. If you notice these signs, move your pet to a cool area, offer small amounts of cool (not ice-cold) water, and contact your veterinarian or the nearest emergency veterinary hospital immediately.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and give your pets an extra belly rub from all of us at Peaceful Journey At Home. ❤️🐾

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is hearing from families after their beloved pets have passed. We are always honored when pet parents share the beautiful tattoos they’ve created using the paw prints we made for them.

Seeing these lasting tributes fills our hearts and reminds us what a privilege it is to be part of such a meaningful and commemorative moment. Knowing that something as simple as a paw print can become a permanent way to keep their beloved companion close means more to us than words can express.

Thank you to these families for allowing us to share these beautiful reminders that love truly leaves a lasting imprint. ❤️🐾

Now that summer is in full swing, with cookouts, family gatherings, and holiday celebrations, we wanted to share a friendly reminder about some foods that are unsafe for our canine companions.

It can be tempting to let those sweet faces enjoy a few table scraps, but some common summer favorites can be harmful to dogs. Check out the list below and help keep your pups safe while everyone enjoys the season!

Here’s to a fun, happy, and safe summer for the whole family — including our four-legged family members! ☀️🐾❤️

🐾 Wondering How Booking Works?

We know reaching out to an in-home pet euthanasia service is never an easy call to make. Many families aren’t sure what information we’ll need or what the process looks like, so we wanted to make it simple.

When you contact us, we’ll ask for:

• Your address (our pricing is based on travel distance)
• Your pet’s name and age
• Any medications they are currently taking
• Their primary veterinarian clinic
• Their approximate weight
• A brief description of what is going on

Once we have that information, we’ll provide a quote and discuss appointment availability.

If you choose to move forward, we’ll schedule a time that works best for your family. During the appointment, we come to your home so your pet can remain in a familiar, comfortable environment surrounded by the people who love them most.

We also offer aftercare options through our trusted partner, Kryder Kritter Hotel, including both private and communal cremation. We handle the transportation for you and are happy to explain all available options so you can choose what feels right for your family.

Please know that asking questions or requesting pricing does not commit you to anything. We’re always happy to answer questions and help you understand your options.

🤍 Our goal is to make this difficult time as peaceful, compassionate, and stress-free as possible for both you and your pet.

If you have questions, feel free to send us a message or give us a call/text at (574) 213-2566. We’re here to help.

We know how deeply our pets are loved—and how hard it is to say goodbye. 🤍

To help honor those special bonds, we’re creating a Memorial Page where families can share photos, stories, and memories of their beloved pets.

This space is here for you—to remember, reflect, and celebrate the lives that meant so much. Many families find that sharing their pet’s story can be a small but meaningful step in the healing process. It can also offer comfort to others who may be preparing for a similar goodbye.

If you feel called to share, we would be honored to include your pet’s memorial.

You can submit photos and a short tribute by:
🐾 Emailing us at [email protected]
🐾 Sending us a private message on Facebook
🐾 Texting us at 574-213-2566

Every pet leaves paw prints on our hearts. Their life mattered, and their story deserves to be remembered. 🩶

In honor of pets like our Drogon—loved deeply and never forgotten. 🐾

🐾 Understanding Your Pet’s Pain: The Grimace Scale 🐾

Our pets can’t tell us when something hurts—but their faces often do.

The Feline Grimace Scale (and similar tools in dogs) is a simple, research-backed way veterinarians assess pain by looking at subtle facial changes like:
• Ear position
• Eye squinting
• Tension around the muzzle
• Whisker position
• Head posture

Even subtle changes can signal discomfort. This allows pain to be recognized earlier and managed more effectively—especially in cats, who often hide signs of illness.

At Peaceful Journey At Home, we use tools like the grimace scale to help guide comfort-focused, end-of-life care and ensure pets remain as peaceful as possible.

If you’re noticing changes in your pet’s expression or comfort level and have concerns, we recommend following up with your primary care veterinarian for evaluation and treatment guidance. We are dedicated to hospice and end-of-life services and are always here to support comfort and quality-of-life decisions. 💙
