🐾 BIGGIE UPDATE — SHE’S STILL WAITING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 🐾

Biggie is doing a little better on her medication, and her vet has just added two more weeks of treatment. ❤️

Biggie is a stray, so we don’t know much about her past. We believe she is around 7 years old and was most likely used for breeding and, when she was no longer needed, released onto the streets of New York. 💔

A good Samaritan — a.k.a. Mom — simply couldn’t leave her roaming the streets. She took Biggie in knowing it could only be temporary. After trying without luck to find her owner, we now need to help Biggie find what she truly deserves: a loving forever home.

We now know that Biggie has some arthritis in her spine, so she would do best in a quieter home with:

🏡 No other pets
👨‍👩‍👧 Adult children
🌳 A yard would be wonderful so she can relax and enjoy some outdoor time
🚶‍♀️ If there’s no yard, short, easy walks are perfectly fine
Despite everything she has been through, Biggie is super friendly. She doesn’t ask for much — just someone to love her, care for her, and let her spend the rest of her life knowing she is safe, wanted, and home. ❤️
Could you be Biggie’s forever family?

If you believe you have the right home for Biggie, please visit gsgsr.org and fill out an adoption application.

Already have an application with us? Please email us with your application number or the name on the application.

Biggie has waited long enough. Let’s find her the loving forever home she deserves. 🐾❤️

Sweet Biggie Deserves a Loving Home ❤️

Looking for a home where she can live out her life, no more breeding just wants to be loved and safe.

Sweet girl Biggie was found by a Good Samaritan who went above and beyond trying to find her owner. Sadly, it appears that Biggie may have been overbred and most discarded once she was no longer needed. Overbred and being disposed of not knowing how long she was on the streets definitely put a told on her body.

Biggie is presumed to be about 7 years old. She moves slowly and doesn’t like going up many steps. We were able to help her temporary mom get X-rays of her hips to make sure there were no injuries causing her discomfort.

The X-rays showed that Biggie does have arthritis in her spine and hips. Her veterinarian has started her on anti-inflammatory medication to help keep her comfortable.

This poor girl is simply looking for a quiet home with few steps and a safe yard where she can relax, enjoy life, and live out the rest of her years surrounded by love.
After everything Biggie has been through, she deserves to finally know what it feels like to be truly loved and cared for. ❤️🐾
If you would like to foster or adopt Biggie and give her the life she now deserves, please visit our website, GSGSR, and fill out either the foster or adoption application.

Let’s find this sweet girl the loving home she has been waiting for. 🐾❤️

In Memory of Our Beloved Peanut 💔🐾

Our rescue is heartbroken today as we lost one of the tiniest puppies from Zara’s litter.

Zara came to our rescue very pregnant. Within a week of being taken into our care and placed immediately into a foster home, she gave birth to eight beautiful puppies—three boys and five girls.

Peanut was the very last one born. Thanks to our amazing foster, who immediately worked to revive her, Peanut survived. From that moment on, she was always a little fighter.

We were so fortunate to have two incredible fosters working together to care for these eight puppies. Caring for a litter this size is no easy task. Zara was a wonderful mama, but she was only a year old herself and still just a puppy.

After a few weeks, our fosters noticed that Peanut was much smaller than her littermates. We decided not to post her for adoption because we wanted to give her time to gain weight and make sure she was healthy before finding her forever home.

Because of her small size, our fosters took her to the veterinarian for bloodwork. Sadly, her liver numbers were extremely high, raising concern for a possible liver shunt. Because there are different types of shunts, an ultrasound was needed to determine if she had a portosystemic shunt.

We were in the process of getting that ultrasound scheduled when we received the heartbreaking news this morning that Peanut had passed away.

Our hearts are absolutely broken. 💔

Peanut may have been tiny, but she was a fighter from the very beginning. She was loved, cared for, and surrounded by people who were determined to give her every chance.

This is what our rescue is about. We are 100% a volunteer organization and all your donations go towards helping other dogs in need. We will do everything we can to save even the ones others might have given up on. Every life matters, no matter how small.

Your support helps us provide veterinary care, save vulnerable animals, and pull other dogs to safety. Sometimes, despite everything we do, we lose them. But we will never stop trying.

Forrest is another example of why we keep fighting. Because of this rescue, we were able to help this happy boy live his best life. Who knows what would have happened to him if we had walked away?

Peanut, you were here for far too short a time, but you were deeply loved.

Run free, sweet Peanut. 🌈🐾
You will never be forgotten. ❤️

If you would like to help with Peanut's veterinary bills, please use the donate button below. Any monies beyond Peanut's medical bills will go to help the next dog in need. Thank you all.
