✨ Exciting news for our program!

We’re super excited to share that we’ve added our own Holter monitor to our toolkit! If you don't know, a Holter is a portable ECG machine that records electrical cardiac activity. It's an incredible tool that helps us measure our dogs’ heart health; We've done Holter testing in the past, but owning our own unit gives us the flexibility to do so more consistently and conveniently.

Every new tool and piece of knowledge helps us continue with purpose and responsibility. We're dedicated to evolving and strive to stay current with the latest in canine health and breeding. We're really proud to be able to invest back into our program— especially in ways that help us learn, grow, and keep doing better for our dogs and puppies! 🥰

Holter monitoring can be expensive, inconvenient, and difficult to access. We'll be breaking in our new toy on our own dogs first, but plan to share with our puppy owners and Boxer community in the near future as well...❤️

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT: We’re making a small but important change in our puppies’ care— moving forward, all Beach Ave Boxers will have intact front dewclaws (tails still have an optional dock, and no our breed doesn't have rear dews).

Why? We’re always learning and striving to make choices that benefit our pups, and this is a topic we've debated heavily since the beginning. After looking at the research and considering the long-term health of our dogs, we’ve decided the risks associated with keeping them intact doesn't dictate the necessity or justify the risk of complications of their removal—especially in athletic breeds like ours. The risk of dewclaw injuries is very low, and leaving them intact supports stronger, healthier, more stable pups. We believe this is a progressive standard for our program's future. 🌟

(P.S. For those who own our previous pups without dewclaws—your babies are perfectly healthy! Dewclaw removal is still very commonplace and we stand behind the procedure. It's a form of amputation [like tail docking and ear cropping] and we support these procedures when there's a clear and measurable reason. We just no longer believe the purpose of dew removal justifies the practice. 😊)

Today we said goodbye to our last puppy from the C-Litter, which is always bittersweet. We're ecstatic for these pups and so thankful for every C-Litter family for choosing them, loving them, and giving them the happily ever after they deserve. But it's an emotional day.

Our adventure started with me anxiously watching our Ruca Bean, MY puppy, get sliced open so we could meet your puppies. Not a day has gone by since that didn't include anxiety, worry, exhaustion, and the desperate hope for everyone to be okay— regardless of how well they were all doing. But thanks to an amazing vet team, an infinitely supportive family, and one incredible mama, we get to end our adventure here with happy tears.

This goodbye stings a little extra knowing it was the last (ever) of our Ruca babies. Please love them. Pretty please, appreciate them. Ruca put her absolute all into these puppies and would give anything to make sure they were fed, safe, and comfortable. She's the real superstar in this story and because of her, we got to meet

I'm so proud of Ruca and even more proud of her puppies. This litter was our "Carnaval del Sol" and these puppies really lived up to their theme— full of smiles and sunshine the entire time ☀️ They will be missed dearly, but thankfully we get to miss them while enjoying our own sunshine, our Ruca Bean 💖 this is our cheers to the C's... it was so nice to meet you babies! 🐾
