❤️ Used, Neglected, and Blind: Stevie's Story ❤️

When Stevie arrived at PawSafe, years of neglect had already changed her life forever.

She had spent her life being used to produce puppies while her own medical needs were ignored. By the time she came to us, her eyelids had rolled inward for years, causing her eyelashes to scrape against her eyes every time she blinked. The pain was constant.

Her eyes were nearly closed. Her vision was disappearing. And still, no one helped her. 💔

Once she was in our care, PawSafe provided the surgery Stevie desperately needed, relieving years of pain and allowing her to finally open her eyes again.

But there was one thing we couldn't undo. The damage was permanent. Stevie was blind.

For many rescues, finding a home for a giant-breed dog with significant medical needs and blindness would be incredibly difficult. Dogs like Stevie require months of specialized care, additional medical expenses, dedicated foster homes, and a great deal of patience while waiting for the right family to adopt.

Thankfully, Stevie found a home with someone experienced in caring for disabled Saint Bernards.

Today, Stevie is finally loved. ❤️ For the first time in her life, Stevie isn't valued for producing puppies. She is loved simply for being Stevie.

Stories like Stevie's don't happen by accident. They happen because compassionate supporters like you step up when dogs have nowhere else to turn.

When Stevie arrived at PawSafe, she needed surgery, medical care, time, patience, and a rescue willing to invest in a blind dog whose future was uncertain. Because of donor support, we were able to intake Stevie and provide her the love and care she deserved.

Today, Stevie is safe, loved, and living the life she always deserved. But there are more dogs just like her waiting for help right now.

Dogs suffering from neglect. Dogs with untreated medical conditions. Dogs whose chances of finding a home seem impossible.

Your donation gives us the ability to say yes when those dogs need us most. It provides lifesaving medical care, specialized treatment, foster support, and the time needed to find the right home—no matter how challenging the journey may be.

Please make a donation today and help us give more dogs like Stevie the second chance they deserve. ❤️

"Excuse us... are you coming to meet us on Saturday?"
These two adorable pups (and their furry friends!) are hoping their forever families will stop by the Adoption Event at Choice Pet in Carmel, NY on Saturday, June 20. From 10am-12pm.
They've been practicing their best puppy-dog eyes, perfecting their tail wags, and dreaming about belly rubs, and families to call their own.
Will we see you there?

**ADOPTED**
Mama Mia is a teeny little 5lb sweetheart. She can be shy when meeting new people, but quickly relaxes and loves being held and cuddled. Mama Mia came from a hoarding situation with many other dogs. This tiny girl is ready for a family who will help her build confidence and shower her with the love she deserves. She is 6 yrs old, good with other dogs, smaller than most cats, and medically up to date.

(We do not have cats and do not know how she is with cats)

Scoop her up at PawSafe, 348 Old Colony Rd, Eastford CT on Wednesday from 4pm-6:30pm!

Hi, I'm 🩷Daisy🩷, a cream-colored beauty who's ready for adventure! 🐕 At just 4 months old, I'm a playful pup with the softest fur and lots of love to give. I'm friendly with other dogs and smart as they come — perfect for someone ready to invest in training and playtime. Although my mix is not really known, I'll probably be about 40-45ish pounds as a guess so I'm looking for an active home where we can explore together. I can't wait to meet my forever family! 💕
